1890s Four bedroom Victorian in gorgeous Narrowsburg, minutes from the River Delaware and close to Main Street with it's excellent restaurants, boutique stores, and art galleries. All bedrooms are well appointed. A breakfast buffet of fine home-cooked fare is included daily. Attic floor is rented out as a complete unit (two bedrooms and a bathroom). This 120 year old Victorian is in the center of Narrowsburg, minutes from the Delaware River, and has charm in abundance, with original oak floors and chestnut wood-furnished pantry. In the summer enjoy the ambiance from the swing chair on the front porch or one of the deck chairs in the back yard. Daily breakfast buffet includes oatmeal, toast, homemade preserves, scrambled eggs and local smoked trout. Included in the stay is a 20 percent discount for nearby One Grand Books, where every book is handpicked by a luminary. Guests get to have top floor to themselves (two rooms and a bathroom), and can use the kitchen to make snacks, etc; owner will be present, but will keep a low profile and will be out during the day. The river town of Narrowsburg has experienced something of a renaissance in recent years with a range of boutique stores and a handful of excellent restaurants, including The Laundrette and The Heron, both of which overlook the scenic Delaware River. The town also plays host to several annual festivals including The Deep Water Literary Fest in June, River Fest in July, and the Honeybee Festival in late September. There is excellent hiking nearby at Ten Mile River, and a single screen cinema in a quonset in nearby Callicoon that shows art house movies as well as mainstream fare. There is plenty of parking available. The nearest bus station is in Monticello NY. If traveling by rail the nearest station is in Port Jervis, about a 40-minute car ride away. It is possible to get an Uber from Monticello. Please note that the house is not suitable for young children, and that there is a cat on the premises. Her name is Freckle. While there is no air conditioning, there are ceiling fans in both bedrooms.
