The space The Cottage is a free-standing, fully equipped two bedroom house in the quiet Whale Rock area of Plettenberg bay. We call it a cottage because it seems tiny compared to the mansions and villas the area is known for. But don't let its name fool you... The modern architecture and superb use of space will make you feel like you are also one of the elite of the jewel of the Garden Route that is Plett. Perfect for a couple, the main bedroom has a king size bed and a beautiful view over the bay. Additional guests can also be accommodated with two single beds in the second bedroom with an en-suite bathroom. A lovely, spacious living area and open plan kitchen is the ideal space to practice your culinary skills, play a round or two of board games or just relax in front of the TV. A basic selection of satellite TV channels are available but if you need the DSTV Premium package for that big sporting event, we can activate it for you as an optional extra. We get most compliments about the amenities in the house... A full set of crockery and a dishwasher means you don't have to feel guilty about letting the dishes stand over for a day if you don't feel like washing up. There is a large fridge and freezer combination and a fully automatic washing machine for guests staying longer periods. We offer WiFi too but please note that it is for recreational use and a usage limit may be imposed. Speed and availability of the service is not guaranteed. If you rely on our wifi to work, please notify us in advance and make provision for a backup service incase there is an outage. As much as people love the inside of the house, you are not in Plett to stay indoors the whole day! Grab some charcoal briquettes from the shop down the road and have a South African Braai (barbeque) outside. Please don't use firewood and large open flames as we are located in a high fire risk area. The kettle braai and umbrella is behind the house. Or just relax on the deck with a glass of wine. The beach is about 1km away and a nice walk down the hill. Of course you can also drive to one of the many beaches or visitor sites in the area. During the summer holidays we set up a pool for your enjoyment. Please book it in advance. A cleaning fee may apply if you'd like to make use of it. Other things to note Unfortunately we have a thing called Load Shedding in our country where the power goes out from time to time but don't fear... we have emergency LED lights and a gas water heater system so you will never have to take a cold shower in the dark (unless you want to of course)! As hosts who want you to come back to our lovely country, we take your safety and security very seriously and you will see there is an electric fence around the property with CCTV cameras overlooking the street. Even though our neighborhood is generally very secure, nobody can guarantee a crime-free town so better safe than sorry!
