We named our apartment under the eaves of our second story "Skyview" because of 3 huge windows in the main room overlooking York City. 2 bedrooms are at opposite ends of the apartment with a large living/dining/kitchen area in between. Skyview Apartment is set up to be a great retreat for traveling nurses, med students, interns or transplants to the community waiting for for permanent housing. The apartment is "under the eaves" of our 2nd floor, meaning that the bedrooms & bathroom have sloped ceilings. If you are tall, you may find it's best to sleep in the main room on the pull-out sofa and the bathroom will be challenging. The main living area has full-height ceilings with the expansive windows: the space is delightfully airy & relaxing. The kitchenette has a microwave, fridge, toaster, coffee maker, hot water kettle, toaster oven & two-burner hot plate. We've listed 3 guests, but with the extra sofas and pull-out Ikea modular sofa in the large common room. You have access to Skyview apartment, our yard and outside living areas (although we are still updating the property). You're welcome to walk dogs in our yard (doggy bags appreciated). We couldn't find a place to install a washer/dryer, I'm happy to wash linens & your personal items. Just put the laundry bag in the vestibule & it magically reappears with clean, folded laundry (usually in 24 hours)! The neighborhood is quiet with mostly single family homes. You will spend most of your time in the apartment looking out over York City, believe me. We're only 5-10 minutes from downtown York, I 83 & Rt. 30, making day trips to Baltimore, Lancaster, Gettysburg, Harrisburg or Hershey very easy. Shopping malls are nearby & there are grocery & convenience stores close by for quick food supplies. Our crime rate is extremely low, mostly occassional thefts from unlocked cars - please lock your car. Because this is a residential neighborhood with strict zoning regulations, you are welcome to park on the street during your arrival and departure. However for overnight parking, you must use our driveway for parking. Driveway if off Midland Avenue and we have marked and reserved spots for TWO cars. Buses do travel close-by - check (URL HIDDEN) for information. For 2022, I made the decision to switch to hosting only "long term" guests. I'm offering a 33% discount for stays of 28 days or more. The income I'm losing is easily balanced with not having to do 10 - 13 cleanings & laundry each month!
