The Retreat: Beyond the Horizon, Above the Clouds

The Retreat is a private bungalow surrounded by gardens and located in a peaceful part of Mussoorie, away from the town’s din and bustle. A spacious bungalow with 2 large rooms with attached bathrooms, a sitting area attached with a dining room, kitchen and a magical sunroom with the views of the Doon valley. There is a caretaker present at all times and a chef on call to cook you fresh meals. The caretaker can help bring supplies when needed and brief you on how to get around. The space This house is equipped with two king size beds with heaters, sofas, office table, 2 private bathrooms- one with a tub, hot shower, fast internet, TV, fully equipped kitchen with utensils and crockery, fridge, stove, oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, towels, washing machine. There is plenty of common space to sit around chatting with friends and family. The sunroom is flooded with natural light all day and can double up as a reading room or an office space. The gardens serve well as play area for children. There are several short nature walks around the hill. You can also visit the Tibetan monastery or the company garden both located 15-20 minutes by drive. On your visit you can also explore Cloud's End and Everest House for beautiful sunsets. We can provide a number for a taxi service to take you into the mall road or around the town. Guest access The guests have access to both the bathrooms, sitting area, dining area, sun room and the kitchen. You can also enjoy the garden and the swing area. Other things to note In light of the Covid-19 pandemic, we have additional steps to ensure proper safety standards are met, hence new guidelines in place. In terms of sanitization of the property - after the departure of the guest we thoroughly clean and disinfect the space, apart from changing all linen. This takes place over the course of an entire day, hence no booking is accepted immediately after a guest's departure for a day.
