An excellent idea would be a day trip to the beautiful, medieval, Baroque town of Noto, which is less than an hour away by bus. Two bus companies are readily avalaible, AST and Interbus, minutes walk from the condo in Siracusa. Historical Attractions: -The Greek Theater, the largest theater in Sicily, was built in the 6th century BC -The Roman Amphitheater, one of the largest arenas of its kind, dates from the 3rd century AD. -The Altar of Hieron II, the largest altar in Magna Grecia, was built around 225 BC -Orecchio di Dioniso, (Ear of Dionysus) is part of the huge stone quarry that provided the stone for the building of the city.
