Kahurangi Cottage Wilderness Retreat.

Kahurangi Cottage Wilderness Retreat is located on the boundary of the Kahurangi National Park, 26kms from the township of Tapawera (20kms on a gravel road). Surrounded by beautiful native bush (beech forest), the Clarke river meanders its way along the boundary of the property. Take a walk along the river, sit and listen to the birdsong or for the brave of heart take a quick dip and revitalise your whole body. It's an amazing place to get away from all the stress of modern life. The space Completely off grid, the cottage has solar power & gas hot water heating. The bedroom has a queen sized bed with views of the native beech forest. A shower room leads off the bedroom, outside Bath sits next to the river. The laundry is situated in the main house. Pet friendly. (Continental breakfast included in price, gluten free, dairy free on request). Guest access Activities include walks in the surrounding forest, using animal tracks that have been cleared to allow access to the ridge, river etc. Please note the tracks are not to the level of the national park tracks, but are easily accessible, our children used them as from a young age. Soap Making/Bath Bombs/Lip Balm/ Basic Book Binding Workshops (it is advisable to give advance notice). Reiki. Kayaking (Abel Tasman Kayaks). Trout fishing (check with Fish & Game NZ for guides), or just relax, put your feet up and let your worries melt away. Other things to note Continental breakfast included in price. Wifi is available but can be sporadic. Pets are welcome, but not inside the cottage, outside kennel provided. PETS MUST BE STOCKPROOF.
