A13 is a self-contained unit in the Wataki Lakes Apartments on the Alps to Ocean cycle trail, in the middle of the Waitaki Whitestone UNESCO Global Geopark & abutting the Aoraki Mackenzie International Dark Sky Reserve. Views of Mt Totara. Over the golf course is Lake Aviemore, popular for boating, with many walks nearby. Hot dry summers, crisp sunny autumn & spring, cold snowy winters. Otematata's population is 200, swelling to 5000 in summer. It is on the road between Oamaru & Omarama. The space A13 is a fully furnished self-contained 38m2 apartment located on the edge of the Otematata golf course. There are wonderful views of the golf course from the lounge and of the courtyard from the bedroom. There is a functioning kitchenette, with a microwave oven, 2 element electric hot plate, fridge and small kitchen appliances such as toaster and electric jug. Note that A13 is not a serviced apartment but tea, coffee and milk, for the first day, is provided. Freeview TV is available as well as Fibre 300 Broadband internet access, allowing you to use your own Netflix account. The bedroom has a queen-sized bed. Small to medium dogs allowed with prior approval. Guest access You will have independent access to the apartment with the key stored in a lockbox. The apartment is self-contained, the courtyard is available also for your use as a shared area. There are user pays personal laundry facilities on site, separate from the apartment. The adjoining hotel offers meals and there is a convenience store across the road. More information about local facilities is provided on arrival in the house manual. Other things to note A13 has a warm, comfortable feel and we welcome visitors of all backgrounds and interests. Please note that the bathroom is off the bedroom. Otematata is 1 hour from Oamaru on state highway 83 between Oamaru and Omarama. 20mins to the towns Kurow & Omarama, 35mins to Twizel. 1hr 20 minutes to both Aoraki/Mt Cook and Lake Tekapo. The village is beside Lake Aviemore, between lakes Waitaki and Benmore. Both Aviemore and Benmore are popular for boating and fishing.
