Whitby is 5 miles and local walking is superb. The space Room 1 has a super-king size bed, the en-suite has a large shower, wash-hand basin, toilet and heated towel rail. Colour scheme is cream and lavender and there are countryside views. There is a sitting area, flat screen TV/DVD, hospitality tray and hairdryer. A full English breakfast is included and I use locally sourced produce, other options are continental and vegetarian. The village bakery is just a few yards away but often make my own bread. The walled garden has been lovingly developed to attract wildlife, there are interesting combinations of wild/garden plants and a pond. The Fylingdales Inn is just a four minute walk and serves delicious food. Fylingthorpe is a charming village situated in The National Park and is within easy walking distance of Robin Hood's Bay where there are several pubs/restaurants, a few small shops, cafes and The National Trust Old Coastguard Station (next to the beach). This is an ideal base to explore the area on foot, bicycle or by car. Whitby is five miles away. Superb walking along the beach, cliffs (Cleveland Way) and moors. The Coast to Coast walk finishes at Robin Hood's Bay. Bring cycles with you, store them in our secure garage and access the old railway line two minutes away. The cinder track runs between Whitby and Scarborough. There is also cycle hire at the neighbouring village of Hawsker. A regular local bus service runs between Whitby and Scarborough. Guest access Access to Dining Room other than breakfast time. This is where I keep local information, maps etc.
