Description

The four-room Hotel is located on the East wall of the Jaisalmer Fort, a 850+ year old UNESCO World Heritage Site. The rooms of this former home/now boutique hotel overlook the city of Jaisalmer and are within easy walking distance of shops, restaurants, and more. Hotel is more than 800 years old and I have dedicated myself to maintaining the historic essence of it while making it comfortable for my guests. Once here, you'll witness the authentic Rajasthani way of life! The space The rooms shown here include two window seats with soft cushions so you can sit and relax while you read, meditate, or enjoy the panoramic view of the city below and sunrise ahead. Rajasthani antiques and sandstone carvings complete the sense of being immersed in an ancient but still vibrant culture. The Area: Located inside the Jaisalmer Fort, we are an easy walk of 100 meters from the main square. On the way, you’ll see shops selling colorful Rajasthani items and restaurants inviting you with their delicious aroma. When you reach the “Peepal” tree that gives shade to the neighborhood houses, you'll know you're close. Come immerse yourself in this unique city-within-a-city, the oldest inhabited fort in the world, and the perfect place to explore our fascinating desert culture. Proximity: Inside the Fort within easy walking distance you'll find the Maharaja's Palace, the ancestral home of our king; a number of Jain and Hindu temples; outstanding examples of Rajasthani architecture, and much more. Outside the fort, explore Jaisalmer by foot, motorbike, or tuk tuk to see all the major tourist attractions. Within 1 kilometer, you'll find: :- The Old Market, or Bazaar :- Historical mansions, called "havelis" :- Numerous Jain Temples :- Gadisar Lake :- and more! Within 5-15 kilometers, you'll find: :- The Royal Cenotaphs, or memorial sites for deceased members of the Maharaja's family :- The abandoned villages of Kuldhara and Khaba, major tourist attractions that are also of great historical importance to Jaisalmer :- Train station and bus stand Guest access Guests have access to all common areas, including the courtyard, the kitchen, and the rooftop terrace. Step outside and you can wander the narrow, winding streets of the Fort. During your stay I love to interact with my guests and I try my best to make sure that they have a comfortable and a memorable stay. Also, if you’re staying for more than a night, you're invited to join me for dinner at my restaurant, the Sunset Palace, for a spectacular view of the city and the setting sun.
