The "Alcázar Milmanda" Rural Guesthouse is named after the main monument in the area because we are right in the area of the only Alcázar in Galicia, a privileged area with a lot of history. An area of kings, clashes between the Portuguese and Spanish, an area of wealth and historical heritage We have a terrace where you can have an aperitif, breakfast, lunch or dinner depending on the season and the weather at the time. There we have a barbecue that you can use after talking to Manuel, the owner. But we also have a restaurant that you can go to under direct reservation with the owner. You have a free pool for guests as well as a small chapel. If you want to hold a banquet, we have a special space. Our story begins in 1760, the one we tell. 70% of the stone with which Milmanda is built comes from that Alcázar. The enraged Irmandiños took their revenge for the Third Irmandiña War with the stones of the fortress, stones that they took from the Alcázar to build outside it, what is now Milmanda. At the same time, the first Town Hall of Galicia was built, right where the Pensión Rústica Alcázar Milmanda is today and where the first Mayor of Galicia, Francisco Feijoo Sotelo de Vilar de Cas, was appointed. We moved from the cycle of jurisdictions, which lasted almost 800 years, to town councils. There were about 80,000 inhabitants in Galicia at that time. We know all this history. We tell our story to all our tourists. We take them to the areas where the church was built with the 30% that was left of the ruins of the Alcázar once the Irmandiños used them to build Milmanda. The church was built embracing the tower. The Church authorities considered the area "fortified" because fortresses that embraced the town that contained the Alcázar and through which three reigns passed are preserved: Fernando I of Portugal, Alfonso IV and Alfonso VII. We have a parking lot just for our guests. There is no public transportation nearby, but the owner is always at your disposal.
