Old Tuxion Cottage - Our Great Ocean Rd Beachhouse

In an elevated position offering spectacular panoramic views, this Great Ocean Road Beach House is nestled on hectares of beautiful gardens & paddocks, surrounded by birds, wild life and a fresh spring-fed creek. Light the fire & relax to the sounds of the coast. Pets negotiable. WiFi available. The space Old Tuxion Cottage offers 4 bedrooms plus a small spare room/games room with a fold down sofa bed. It comfortably sleeps 8-10 people (3 queen beds, 1 set of bunks, all with electric blankets, and 1 double sofa bed) and is ideal for large families, more than one family, large groups of friends or couples sharing. Please note it is a renovated old style cottage, dating back to when the Great Ocean Road was being constructed. There are two (2) bathrooms, one with old style deep bath and shower over the bath, and the other with a double shower. Both bathrooms include toilets within. The house is child friendly and accessible by wheelchair, although please note that it is not equipped with hand rails in bathrooms etc, and bathroom door widths are too narrow to accommodate wheelchairs. For meals and entertaining there is an expansive deck (partly covered) with an outdoor table setting for 8 people – take your pick: the coastal outlook or the garden. There is also a meals area adjacent to the “cottage kitchen" and a gas BBQ. The living room is also spacious and has large windows/sliding doors opening onto the deck. There is a fireplace for winter comfort and a large TV, as well as a VCR/DVD player and an iphone dock. A difficult choice: sit back and watch the weather roll in, the coastal views and action, the fire burning, or the TV – all within 180'! The fully self-contained kitchen combines old and new. There are modern appliances such as a large electric hotplate and oven, microwave and sandwich maker, as well as an old wood burner stove that is terrific in the colder months for heating, and for cooking homemade bread, roasts or pizzas! There is a dishwasher and a large fridge/freezer, as well as a separate drinks fridge. Guest access Guests are welcome to explore the whole property.
