Gufo is a romantic ground-floor apartment at Podere Oliveta, designed for a couple seeking peace and authenticity. You enter directly into a large open space with high brick ceilings, terracotta floor and brick arches – typical features of old Tuscan farmhouses, here creating an immediate sense of warmth and welcome. The space The sleeping area is compact yet scenic: a double bed with an important wooden headboard, a characteristic bedspread, classic bedside lamps and a window overlooking the greenery. A light but opaque curtain separates the bed from the rest of the room, ensuring privacy without blocking natural light. The living area is larger than you would expect: a big green wooden table for slow breakfasts or intimate dinners, wooden chairs, antique sideboards, paintings on the walls, a bookcase and a fireplace with armchairs and a sofa. It’s a space where you can really live the house: reading, talking in the evening, sipping a glass of wine after a day between Siena and San Gimignano. Next to it, under a brick arch, there is the masonry kitchen: hob, ceramic sink, wooden cabinets, microwave and all the essentials for cooking independently. It’s a simple yet characterful corner, perfect for preparing a plate of pasta, bruschetta with local olive oil or a home-made breakfast. The bathroom is surprisingly spacious: a large shower, heated towel rail, exposed brick arches, light tiles and wrought-iron details. It is practical and comfortable, with enough space to store and organise personal belongings without feeling cramped. Outside, right in front of the entrance, you’ll find your private little patio/garden with table and chairs: an intimate space framed by hedges and roses, where you can have breakfast outdoors, read in the shade of the umbrella or dine while looking at the greenery. From the patio you walk down into the large shared park, with paths, panoramic benches, fruit trees, olive trees and a ping-pong table available to guests. Higher up, among the olive trees, there is the panoramic swimming pool with sun loungers and umbrellas: from here your gaze stretches over the hills, vineyards and farmhouses of the countryside between Siena and San Gimignano. It is the ideal place to relax after sightseeing, read a book in the sun or simply watch the landscape change light throughout the day. Overall, Gufo is designed for those who love warm, characterful interiors, life outdoors and a slower pace: a perfect base for exploring central Tuscany and at the same time a small peaceful retreat to come back to every evening. The treatment is designed to significantly reduce mosquitoes and insects during the most critical hours, without being harmful to people when used as intended.
