The space Sunrise Cottage is a private studio apartment above a barn overlooking Stonington Harbor, next to our white house. The studio is one open room with a queen memory foam bed, sitting area, and a private bathroom with shower. The kitchenette includes a refrigerator, induction stovetop (no oven), microwave, and coffee maker—perfect for morning coffee, light meals, or longer stays. The highlight of the space is the private balcony overlooking Stonington Harbor—a perfect spot for morning coffee while lobster boats head out and the harbor comes to life. From the cottage, it’s about a 10-minute walk into downtown Stonington, where you’ll find coffee shops, seafood restaurants, galleries, and the ferry to Isle au Haut in Acadia National Park. Clean, quiet, and thoughtfully arranged, it’s a comfortable place to return to after a day exploring Deer Isle or nearby Acadia. Perfect for couples or solo travelers looking for a peaceful harbor retreat within walking distance of town. Guest access Guests have the entire studio to themselves. Access is via exterior stairs leading to the second-story deck and private entrance. Parking for one car is available on the grass beside the barn. Other things to note Exterior stairs are required to access the apartment. The bathroom ceiling is slightly sloped, which may feel snug for taller guests. Stonington is a working harbor town and you may hear lobster boats heading out in the early morning. The Mark Island foghorn can also occasionally be heard, particularly in foggy weather.
