Home stay offers the entire 1st floor with 2 bedrooms, a modern washroom and vast sit-outs The space Valley Retreat is a family managed home stay, situated at Chowari, a Block HQ with a population of 3000 in district Chamba, Himachal Pradesh. Chowari is an ideal base to explore places in the districts of Chamba and Kangra. It's ideally located midway between Chamba and Dharamsala. It is at a 2 hours drive (85 Kms) from Dharamsala airport and 2 hours (55 kms) from Chamba. Dalhousie and Khajjiar can be reached in an hour (40 - 55 Kms). The family home has two floors. Home stay offers the entire 1st floor with two bedrooms, a modern washroom and two vast sit-outs with beautiful views of the fields and the mountains around. The hosts – Anshuman and Punam stay on the ground floor, hence available for any help round the clock. Television is available in the living room of the ground floor. We have deliberately not put televisions in the guest bedrooms so as to encourage our guests to enjoy the physical surroundings and be away from the gadgets. Mobile phone voice connectivity and Airtel / Vodafone data connectivity is usually good. Guest access Guests will have access to the full first floor of the house. Food will be served in the dining room on the ground floor. All common areas on the ground floor are available as well. Other things to note Food: Breakfast is included in the room tariff along with a bottle of mineral water each day per guest. For Lunch and Dinner, we offer home cooked Indian food and local cuisine on fixed meal basis (at an additional charge). For any specific requirements, please request a day before. We will do our best to serve you based on local availability Route closures: In winters, since Chowari is in a valley, it does not snow here. It snows on the ranges around and you can hit snow after a 45 minute drive towards Jot Pass. Roads are open throughout the year but please check for road conditions in monsoons as on some days due to landslides the local roads can get impacted for a day.
