Rustic Tower in Park Natural del Montgo

The tower and studio are in the Parque Natural del Montgo. Views of the Mediterranean to the East and Montgo mountain to the West. The quirky house is comfortable, and unique. There is one bedroom and bathroom in the tower and a kitchen and living room in the studio. There are bike paths and hiking trails right outside the door for easy strolls or energetic climbs. The space This is a unique, rustic, off-grid stone tower and adjoining studio in Parque Natural del Montgo. The house is accessed by a half kilometer long dirt road. This is our family home built in 1970 made of mostly recycled materials. We have solar panels for electricity. The tower and studio is adjacent to our family home. The tower and studio is completely independent, with its own kitchen, bathroom, and private entrance. Patio walls are shared so you are not completely isolated. The tower has a queen bed (150 cm) upstairs and a large bathroom below. A few steps away, across a private patio, is a small kitchen and sitting room. There are multiple hiking and biking trails right out the door. You can take easy strolls to historic windmills and watch towers or more vigorous hikes to caves at water's edge or up Montgo, a 750 meter mountain that is the jewel of the Parque Natural del Montgo. It's also possible to walk/bike to the lighthouse and into Javea and Denia. There are many technical mountain bike trails as well as a variety of road bike routes to explore. We are located on a high plane (known as La Plana) over looking the Mediterranean between Javea (2 km) and Denia (5 km), each town has lively markets, many restaurants, and a variety of beaches (rocky, sandy, small coves etc.). Closest beaches are about a 10 minute drive away. Javea offers a beautifully preserved 18th-century center. Denia is the main ferry port to the Balearic Islands. Our local Plana restaurant with bar and swimming pool is a 10 minute walk away. The nights are mostly quiet. In summer there is a discotheque and a "party house" near by that are often active on Saturday nights. Winters the tower can be chilly although we do have gas heaters and a wood stove in the kitchen studio. Nearest airports: Alicante and Valencia, each about an hour and a half drive. Bus service to Denia and Javea/Xabia. We recommend having a car. Guest access You have access to the tower, studio, the patio, parking and of course, the entire Parque Natural del Montgo. The tower-studio is adjacent to our house. You are in the country with neighbors, the AirBnB space is private. Other things to note Remember this is an off-grid house, and we ask you be mindful of your electrical consumption. The wifi is adequate, but this is not a place to stay if you need to be online all the time. There is no cellular data coverage, have to operate by WIFI. NO hair dryers! There is no TV.
