Description

A self contained tiny house situated among rainforest of the Yarra ranges. The forest surrounds us by three sides, with one neighbour next door. There are plenty of tracks to go walking. Ideal if your into bird watching, bush walking, or hiking. All our water comes from the little Yarra rivers tributaries so it's clean, untreated and fresh. The house stays very warm in winter with a cozy wood fire and cool in the summer shaded by a large beech tree. The space One bedroom split level tiny house, the bed sits in a loft accessed by stairs. Covered in lovely linen sheets. There is a small bathroom with a shower, sink and small bath all hooked up to hot water and a toilet. Organic cotton towels provided. Kitchen has gas cook top with 3 burners, small fridge and double sink. The kitchen comes fully stocked with utensils, pots and crockery. We also supply oil, salt, pepper, tea, nut milks, coffee and granola. Wood fire for heating, with a wood fired oven, take note this cooks slower than normal and may not be suitable in the summer months. The space is well insulated so it stays warm and snug. It is also shaded by two beautiful beech trees so stays cool in the summer. The tiny house has a small desk with Ethernet cable and wireless internet, which reaches throughout the space. Perfect for getting away and getting some creative work done, writing or music. We have some chickens on the property. 3 friendly cats and if we are around, 2 dogs. We supply fresh eggs, when available. We have one neighbour and the tiny house is situated on the same property as our main house, which we live in. There is also a small creative studio on the land next door. Though its not in use when we have guests staying to maintain privacy. The french doors open to a garden shaded by a peach tree, so lovely for relaxing under in the warmer months. We ask guests to not peer in through the cabin windows. If you'd like to look inside search The Little Wooden Cabin in the Rainforest. Guest access People have access to the tiny house, easily identified by its top octagonal windows. Also access to a private garden with seating and we're happy to have people wander throughout the property and the cleared area next door where the chooks are. The garden down the front is for Cabin guests only. There is another tiny house on the neighbouring property. It’s used by us as a creative writing studio during work hours. There is fire wood outside in a tuned over water tank, as well as more sticks in the carport. It can be fun to collect your owns sticks among the neighbouring trees, for the nights fire. Other things to note Bring food for your stay, there is a fridge inside the space to store food. Our kitchen is fully functional and should meet most cooking requirements. Organic cotton towels, linen sheets, toiletries, local coffee, nut milks and basic condiments are supplied. We also have plenty of books, magazines and some puzzles.
