Description

This 1977 Zephyr caravan is like stepping back in time. Cute, cosy, comfy and very kiwiana! With a Queen bed and double bed (folded out from the couch) she is perfect for a few nights of chillaxing or a stopover to Abel Tasman NP. Zephyr sits nestled amongst the lush bush, our driveway, our babbling stream, and Falconer Rd. Embrace being close to nature, birds, and forest. The outdoor (covered) kitchen is complete with a gas cooker, sink and all the kitchen cooking essentials. The space We are 600 meters from the beach with Kahurangi and Abel Tasman National Parks at your exploration doorstep. This caravan is located on the same property as Oasis Omarama - Permaculture Glamping (also listed on Air BnB as one glamping tent). We can accomodate larger groups with the caravan and the glamping tent or this can be perfect for a bit of space from the kids (or the in-laws). Discounts can be offered for bookings of both the Glamping Tent and the caravan together. Please contact me. You will relax in your own self-contained zone in lush surroundings right next to our stream. The caravan is also nearest to the road/driveway but this is a local road with very little traffic, just a few friendly neighbours. You will be close to nature with very basic amenities, but everything you need. This is a not a 5-star accomodation, but a humble kiwiana experience. There is an outdoor kitchen set up that is complete with all you need to cook up a feast. The kitchen is covered with a roof but it is outside, so during heavy rain it does get a bit wet (there are no walls). There are also spiderwebs given that this is an outdoor set up and I can in no way keep them all out. The spiders handle any bugs (there are not too many) and there are no poisonous spiders in NZ. There is a small fridge in the caravan as well. Tea and coffee goodies are complimentary. There is a small oil-fin heater in the caravan and an electric blanket on the Queen bed for the cooler months. As it's a small space, it's cosy as in the caravan with the heater on. There is power to the caravan to charge gadgets. We (your hosts) also live on the property about 80 meters from the caravan area. There are lots of trees and greenery between the dwellings so plenty of privacy. Again, there is only 1 caravan and 1 glamping tent on the property and the caravan is in it's own self-contained separate zone. Let Nature surround and embrace you. Please be prepared to be close to nature. If you cannot pee outside please do not book this accomodation. The outdoor shower and compost loo are in the caravan zone. If you are not comfortable with composting toilets or a hot beautiful outdoor shower then we recommend you book elsewhere. The Caravan comfortably accommodates 2 adults, with space for up to 2 additional children or adults, making it the perfect family nature holiday getaway. All extra guests (including children) requiring a bed to be made up will be an additional $30 per night. Please add additional guests when making your booking. Please bring your own towels if possible. Pets are allowed with prior approval and must sleep outside of the caravan. Pets will be charged an extra fee of $55 per night to be paid in cash. We look forward to hosting you and sharing our wee slice of paradise! Again prepare to be close to and embraced by nature with basic but completely functional facilities. This beautiful and incredible land has been created and managed as a full Permaculture organic garden and self-sufficiency lifestyle block. Permaculture is the conscious design and maintenance of agriculturally productive systems which have the diversity, stability, and resilience of natural ecosystems. It is the harmonious integration of the landscape with the people which provides their food, energy, shelter and other material and non-material needs in a sustainable way. Permaculture integrates people into Nature's design. Spending time here allows you to be embraced and nurtured by this natural design. You can be at one with the elements as you enjoy your homegrown breakfast with the sun shining on you. We live on half an acre of luscious soil with our very own stream which runs year round. We aim to grow as much of our own food as possible. We have fruit and nut trees: peach, apple, plum, grape, hazelnut, walnut, avocado, lemon, macadamia, feijoa, fig, kiwifruit, mandarin, orange, pear, tamarillo....We also have our own chickens for fresh eggs. You will lay your head to rest listening to a babbling stream gently lulling you to sleep. Abundant Native bird song will awake you in the morning within the natural rhythms of daybreak. We have tui, kereru, thrush, blackbird, bellbird, piwakawaka, weka, and more. The evening sun glows through the caravan and warms it throughout the day. Guest access Please note our premises is contactless. There is no key to the caravan and social distancing can easily be maintained. Quiet evenings are appreciated from 10pm onwards. This is our healing sanctuary and sacred space that we call home. We prefer quiet respectful guests who will respect our gardens, trees, animals, and our home as they would their own. Feel free to enjoy a bit of fun music during the day, but we appreciate tranquility in the evenings. We have created a self-sufficient space around the Caravan for you to enjoy and relax and we will honor that as YOUR space. We would also appreciate that you honor our private time in and around the house (esp. in the evenings). Also respect needs to be given the Glamping tent guests and their space on another part of the land. Wifi does NOT reach to the caravan. No chemicals of any kind can be used on the land. Smoking is allowed outside only and well away from the main house. Please dispose of any waste responsibly. Dogs and pets may be considered with prior approval and for an additional fee. They must be very well behaved with our chickens and cat. All doggy doo must be picked up. Thank you for your understanding about this. Please feel free to speak to Shanti about your individual pet requirements. The toilet and shower facilities are new additions to the caravan zone. You will have your own compost loo and hot outdoor gas califont shower. Please enquire if you have any questions. There are often children (mine and neighbors) playing creatively and joyfully around the land making noise as children do. We invite others to participate in our lifestyle of living simply, happily, joyfully, and connected to the land. Other things to note Please note our premises is contactless. There is no key to the caravan and social distancing can easily be maintained. Please park along the roadside and NOT in front of the caravan. It is safe and quiet along the side of the road. The caravan is nestled between our driveway, the stream and then beyond that the neighbourhood Falconer Road. It is furthest away from the house where we live (about 80 meters). This is a safe neighbourhood and the caravan does not have a lockable door. We never lock our house and have never had a problem. The Queen bed is a normal full size bed. The Double bed is a bit on the small/short side when it is folded out. Folded up it is a couch. It can cosily fit 1 or 2 adults or easily fit 2 children. There is an electric blanket on the Queen bed during the cooler months (winter/autumn). Breakfast Options: CASH ONLY and not included in the nightly rate. Muesli with milk, wholegrain toast, homemade spreads plus whatever fruit is in season on the land OR fresh eggs from our happy hens and greens (as in season) with wholegrain toast and spreads. We can cook a homegrown breakfast feast for you with eggs as you like them, herbs, and greens with wholegrain toast with spreads ($20 per person per night) OR provide a breakfast basket for you to cook your own (additional $15 per person per night). We can also brew up some fair-trade organic coffe flat whites ($5.50) should you prefer this over plunger coffee which is included in your caravan. If you would like the full service brekky please let me know the night before. There is a breakfast menu onsite. Gluten free options also available. I run Thrive Therapies at Aroha Health Spa in Pohara and work in many facets of natural health and healing, including massage, reflexology, herbalism, and colon hydrotherapy. I am often away from the land working with clients, especially in summer.
