It was originally built in 1930 as the headquarters of the old O Comércio do Porto newspaper and renovated in 2018. A gorgeous facility combining the influences of Art Deco and Expressionism, it is marked by vertical pillars spanning the building’s entire facade and eight grandiose female figures overlooking the avenue. The circular entryway greets visitors in a hall decorated with marble and imposing ironwork doors. Inside, a magnificently colored stained glass window, encircled in iron, portrays still lives. Above the rooftop, a stone turret which, looks like a lighthouse, creates an imposing presence over the entire avenue and accentuates the building’s majestic appearance.
