Stunning views and private, tranquil location The space The Retreat at Randalls offers a totally private, absolute waterfront experience overlooking stunning Randalls Bay, a short drive from Cygnet and 55 minutes from Hobart. Featuring panoramic views of the pristine beach across to Garden Island, and a sheltered 3,500 square metre garden area with abundant wildlife, walking tracks and play equipment for the kids to explore, the opportunity exists for families or couples to rest and relax. So too does it provide the perfect opportunity to access the numerous tourist sites along the Huon Valley Trail, Bruny Island, and beyond. The house itself offers comfortable accommodation with a 70s retro beach house feel. Expect carpet in the kitchen, mismatched plates and straightforward bathroom facilities - but also expect every comfortable facility you need. It is set on 3 levels, the lower containing bunk accommodation for two, the middle the kitchen/meals/lounge area, a ‘snug’ and the two main bedrooms, and the upper story providing further sleeping facilities and a new 60 square metre deck. The master bedroom (complete with en-suite) and the communal living areas offer uninterrupted views across the D’Entrecasteaux Channel to the Hartz Mountains. The deck adds further to the panoramic experience, with a 360 degree outlook encompassing the beach across to Garden Island in one direction, and a view of the private gardens and the mountain of the Echo Sugarloaf reserve from behind. Facilities include a split system heating/cooling and a wood burning heater, digital television/radio/internet, a scenic BBQ area (gas and wood fired) , a well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher and microwave oven, a washing machine and clothes dryer, abundant reading material, board games, puzzles etc. All linen and towels (except beach towels) are supplied. The grounds, intersected by a winding 100 metre long horseshoe driveway with two small bridges, provide an added source of enjoyment, especially for children. Scattered across the property via a number of tracks can be found a 10 foot trampoline, a slide with adjoining climbing frame, and a play area with suspended tyre, trapeze and conventional swing. Along the coast side a gate opens out to a path leading to the safe, secluded beach. Both Randalls Bay, and the adjoining Mickey’s Beach (accessed by a scenic walking track nearby) are, we believe, simply the best beaches in the Huon region, if not beyond. Certainly, they are one of the very few stretches of sandy shoreline to have such an enclosed, sheltered position, surrounded by natural bush.
