Little Oak - romantic & spacious, Forest of Dean
Little Oak - romantic & spacious, Forest of Dean
Description
This is our newly built light and airy self contained guesthouse set in the beautiful Forest of Dean. It's the perfect location for exploring all that the forest has to offer. We are on the edge of the village of Bream and you can access the forest from the lane opposite, straight down a path and you're into the woods. It's a great spot for walking and mountain biking. We live in the cottage next door and share the off road parking. The space The annex is wheel chair accessible and has a super king-size electric bed that can be split into 2 singles if needed. The sitting room, kitchen and bedroom are all open plan. The annex has many velux windows in the ceiling so natural daylight may wake you up in the mornings. There is under floor heating throughout. There is a television with all the usual digital channels and a huge collection of DVDs for rainy days or cosy evenings. The annex has a small private court yard with seating area, a gas barbecue and a little pond that is set high over toddler height. We can provide a travel cot and there is a fold out futon in the sitting room so potentially Little Oak could sleep more at an additional cost. Dogs are welcome at an additional cost. Please do not let dogs on the furniture or the bedding. There is no door through to the bedroom as it’s open plan. We use white 400 thread count cotton bedding, if this is a problem please bring your own or covers for the sofa ect… We provide towels but please don’t use them on dogs. We have 2 very friendly cats, if you are bringing a dog please shoo the cats away, as they will come and try and say hello. We provide a selection of cereals and some breakfast bits teas and coffee. Guest access We can provide parking for one vehicle off road on our drive (our driveway is big enough for 2 cars so just to be aware to leave room for us too!) You have your own courtyard garden. Our garden to our cottage next door is not accessible to guests, so if you are bring a dog please make sure they don't come into it. Other things to note You can access the woods from the lane opposite us and then straight into hours of endless forest, great walks and excellent mountain biking. We have heaps of unofficial mountain bike trails just a couple of minutes peddling from us! These are for people in the know. The courses are not in any book you will find and created by local enthusiasts know as the 'trail fairies' as they just seem to magically appear! We are a stones throw from the river Wye and there are plenty of places to hire canoes or paddlers boards or go on guided canoe trips. Wild swimming around here is amazing but not for the faint hearted! The Wye has some strong currents but if you are a compitent swimmer there's nothing else quite like it! The best time of year for this is the Spring or the Autumn. If you are interested in a swim trip do ask, I run swim tours along side 2 swim tour swimmers and we are all qualified open water lifeguards and know some excellent routes along the Wye.
