Secluded bush cottage in the heart of Ipswich. Designed for a couple, with it’s open plan layout, breezy windows all around and a happy colour scheme within. Fully equipped kitchen. Air-conditioned. Guests have two, outdoor areas, a private, shaded deck overlooking the bush, and a paved alfresco area below the garden. A stroll to restaurants, galleries, clubs, boutique breweries, celebrity ice creamery and all that is upbeat Top of Town. Walk to Ipswich Grammar, train and Hospital. The space Down a long hedged driveway, away from the historic, street frontages of Woodend Rd, the peace and tranquility of Kiltycreighton cottage is improbably close to the CBD. Birds, possums, water dragons and trees. It is truly a unique place in the heart of Ipswich. The king size bed sits colourfully and comfortably in the open plan space, thus, this cottage is primarily suited to a couple. Guests have access to the house pool and laundry facilities. The cottage itself is airconditioned; cool in summer and cozy in winter. Walks around the quiet, safe neighbourhood take you through some of the most glorious, historic homes and gardens of Ipswich. A ten minute stroll down the hill takes you right into the heart of Ipswich CBD's cafes, boutiques and bars, as well as Ipswich's outdoor entertainment and eatery precinct, Tulmur Place. The cottage has Wifi and a Fetch box for movies and t.v of choice. The host family lives in the main house above the cottage, so they are close at hand, yet out of your way. The family dog is a placid Labrador called Gilbert, who loves to be loved. The cottage is privately situated, nestled below established gardens on one side and overlooking beautiful Australian bush on the other. No neighbours looking into your space, just four, free ranging chickens scratching about in the gully below. Within close proximity to multiple sporting venues, medical precinct, Civic Centre and universities, our guests range from consultants, sports competitors, musicians, boarding school parents, family gatherings, couples on staycation and people enjoying the advantages of seeing theatre shows regionally, instead of in Brisbane. Ipswich has so much to offer and the cottage is a peaceful place to base yourself. Guest access The pool is a welcome cool down in summer and guests are very welcome to share the area. From the lawn, wander up the garden steps toward the main house. You will see the pool to your right. Other things to note A word on Parking The cottage is set down a long driveway, below the house, away from the street. Guests park on the street, walk down the driveway, across the lawn and down three steps to the cottage. In this way, guests can come and go without interacting with anyone. In circumstances where this access causes difficulty, we will park our cars on the street so that guests can park in the carport. A word on Smoking This property is entirely smoke free. Partly because of the fire risk in our dry bush setting, but also because we have hyper sensitivity to migraines in the family. Being set down, away from the street, it is an unacceptable inconvenience to walk up to the street for smokers.
