Description
Unique self contained cabin located in a picturesque village in the heart of the Wye Valley and on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, with a lovely village pub within walking distance. Double and single bed, well equipped kitchen, wood burner, shower room, private garden, outdoor hot tub which is always warm, hammock, fire pit & BBQ. Romantic retreat, family holiday or somewhere to simply relax and de-stress! The space The Shepherds Cabin is a one off structure we built from scratch over the course of a year. Initially we wanted to replicate the ever popular shepherds hut because we loved their old world charm and quirkiness, but in the end felt they were just too small. We were determined to retain that look and feel but at the same time create something spacious and self contained. Somewhere you could comfortably stay for more than just one or two nights! If you are keen to escape the hussle and bussle of daily life and have a really relaxing holiday in a beautiful part of the country you should consider The Shepherds Cabin @ Plaswye. Located in the picturesque village of Llyswen in the heart of the Wye Valley, the cabin is situated in the grounds of our own home and enjoys a private secluded spot with far reaching views of the Black Mountains and Wye Valley. The cabin offers a level of luxury not normally found in a glamping setting, while still retaining that all important back to basics feel! It has its own garden, an outdoor luxury hot tub from where you can take in the mountain views and stars at night, a fire pit, hammock and bbq. Inside, the cabin is bright and airy with amazing views from every window. Fully insulated and heated by a wood burning stove the cabin couldn’t be cosier. It has its own open plan living area with smart TV and wifi, a double bed with a single bed above, a well equipped kitchen with a gas hob and cooker, a fridge freezer, a table which seats up to four and a bathroom with power shower and flushing toilet! Residents are welcome to roam around our fields and orchard, which amount to 6 acres where our horses and a small flock of black mountain sheep roam. Guests have the opportunity to do as much or as little as they like. They can merely stay put and chill, or venture out and enjoy a host of pursuits from walking, kayaking, mountain biking, sailing and flying to a lazy day wondering around the nearby book town of Hay on Wye or market town of Brecon, nestled at the foot of Pen Y Fan, the highest mountain in southern Britain and part of the famous Brecon beacons national park. There are some great walks direct from the doorstep, such as the Wye Valley walk and the climb immediately behind the cabin up onto Brechfa common from where you get an amazing 360 degree view of the entire area. For keen fishermen we can also offer access to our own private stretch of fishing on the river wye, a famous salmon fishing river and only a short walk away. We do charge a small fee for this. Be it summer or winter we are sure you won’t be disappointed and will leave feeling rested and revived! Please note: if you are looking for friends and family to join you, we also have the ‘Shepherds Carriage’ and ‘Apple House Cottage’ which are also in the grounds and featured on this website. Guest access The cabin is detached and in its own gated grounds where children and dogs can play freely.
