A family run pub with an open fire, great beer & live music. Situated at the foot of Twmbarlwm Mountain in beautiful surroundings 12 minutes from the M4. Our newly refurbished BUNK:HOUSE is an exciting place to stay whilst exploring nearby cities, towns and cute welsh villages! Only a 30 minute drive to the Welsh Capital Cardiff, 20 minutes to Newport City. The space Our Bunkhouse is purpose built for groups of bikers and walkers visiting the Cwmcarn downhill tracks and miles of forest walks. The ease, security and simplicity of the accommodation makes a weekend away from the rat race hassle free! We have the most mind blowingly beautiful surroundings, a lovely sun trap of a beer garden plus a well stocked bar with fabulous prices offers great draft beer, gin bar and we're open 4 days a week. Exactly what you need to wind down after a day in the great outdoors! The rooms area custom built as small cabin rooms with 1 Triple bunk (three beds- standard single bed size). So each triple cabin sleeps x3 people. We keep the service and accommodation simple and rustic so no worries about walking in with wet boots or muddy gear! You'll have to bring your own shower gells/ soaps/ toothpaste or any other personal washing products. We do provide (unusual for most bunkhouses) plenty of pillows, duvex and extra blankets. You will find complimentary tea and coffee and a comfortable stay which is great value for money. The bunkhouse is at the centre of The Fork and Tune property, opening up onto the Festival Garden you are in the heart of the local Pub, with most weekends live entertainment indoors and outdoors, music and lots of atmosphere. Thur - Sunday we are open to the public. Guest access The entrance to the bunkhouse is through the rear pincoded wooden gate. You will be within crawling distance to the bar which has an open log fire which most guests absolutely LOVE! Shared bathroom Tea & coffee facilities During your stay You're free to come and go as you please, we are available to meet you on arrival - available between 11am and 11pm Other things to note We are a LIVELY and FRIENDLY pub and very much involved in our community. Please check us out on social media to see the type of pub we are! We have live music most Friday nights and some Saturday evenings. If you're staying with us please note music finishes by midnight and ear plugs can be provided! Cwmcarn Forest Drive is renound for down hill mountain biking and treking which is less than 1 mile from the pub! We are about 45 minutes drive from Bike Park Wales, Merthyr and approximately an hour from The Forest of Dean.
