Chalet La Barona

Beautiful secluded chalet in a hidden corner of Piedmont, on the border with Switzerland located at 1300 meters. The chalet is inside a green oasis of meadow, pasture and vegetable gardens, surrounded by a dense forest of centuries-old pine trees. Ideal for those seeking tranquility, contact with themselves and nature. The view of the 4,000 Swiss mountains is breathtaking! During the winter season, in case of snowfall, you will need to park about 500 meters from the chalet, we will gladly help you with your luggage! The space The property is on 2 + 1 floors. On the ground floor there is a large living area, living room and dining room. A large wooden door with 2 doors leads to the fire room, where you can relax on comfortable benches covered with skins, around a beautiful brazier. A wooden staircase leads to the upper floor consisting of the double bedroom, a bathroom with a bathtub and shower, a room with two beds and a closet room. A wooden balcony will allow you to relax in front of the magnificent view. The third floor is a lovely attic with separate access. Inside you will find a double bed, a single bed, a bathroom and a study corner. This attic is only available to people related to those occupying the 2 floors below. Our guests can also access the entire green area of our property, and the barbecue area. (To use the barbecue, you must have charcoal in advance) Guest access We are within walking distance, a 2-minute walk from the parking lot. If you need transportation to the chalet for luggage or people, just arrange it with us in advance. Other things to note Our property includes a large grazing area, an area with a barn, a stable, a chicken coop, a pond, orchards and vegetable gardens. So if you want to experience farm life, you can easily accompany us in our daily work. If, in addition to enjoying the tranquility of Chalet La Barona, you want to engage in some sports activities, you will find a variety of hiking opportunities nearby that we will be happy to show you. We are on the GTA Gran Tour Alpino route. In this area, you can practice many sports: mountain running workouts, mountain biking, e-biking, Nordic walking, treekking, snowshoeing in winter and Nordic skiing (with a slope that passes right under the chalet). We are a 20-minute drive from the San Domenico ski resort. Several walks start from the chalet, including the one leading to Mount Teggiolo (2384 m.) and the one leading to the Veglia - Devero Natural Park (1750 m). In the area, you can also go in search of local products such as typical sheep and cow cheeses. In the village and in the immediate vicinity during the year, events are organized: April Palio Varzese, May accordion festival, June Gran Bucc mountain running race, August Rampigada and Osone mountain running race, October goat and chestnut festival.
