Dog friendly up to 1 x medium sized dog accepted extra cost. The space ‘LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION’ Here you’ll find the unique Len’s Hut surrounded by gorgeous green hayfield. Len’s Hut is situated just below one of the highest points on the Mendip Hills, facing south with stunning views across the unique landscape of the Somerset Levels, Glastonbury Tor and the distant Quantock Hills. Glorious isolation, but near your car if required, and up to 100 metres from the former farmhouse and farm buildings. Local attractions include Wells (England’s smallest cathedral city), Glastonbury (England’s hippiest town), Wookey Hole Caves and Cheddar Gorge, plus some great walking and cycling country, with a wealth of quirky pubs and eateries (visit our activities and outings page for more details). UNIQUE ECO HOT TUB Exclusively handmade, the wood-fired hot tub is the perfect addition for your bathing experience, whatever the weather. The stove gets the tub up to your preferred temperature quickly, whilst you pour out the fizz and chill, watching the sun go down and the stars come out. (Logs for hot tub use are inclusive of 1 bag per night booked) CANINE CODE OF CONDUCT Specify at the time of booking if you intend to bring your well-behaved up to a medium sized dog. A typical medium sized dog will be at least 1 years old and not a puppy nor exceeding a maximum of 20 kilos in weight and no more than 70 cm. We have a dedicated dog exercise walk for your dog located in front of your accommodation which you will need to use. Prohibited Breeds of dogs are not permitted here onsite. For your pet’s safety and the consideration of other guests, we do ask that the dog and their owners follow a few simple rules while they are staying here onsite. Your dog must always be properly controlled and supervised at all times (preferably with a lead on) during your stay. The field is dog friendly, but it is not completely escape-proof for your dog. Your dog must not be left unattended in the hut or outside, no dog on any furniture or bed and the dog must not enter the hot tub. We therefore advise owners to bring a dog basket and blanket and their dog’s toys. Guests are asked to clean up after their dog, both inside and outside of the property a dog waste bin is provided please supply your own dog waste bags, otherwise extra cleaning costs may be charged. Please contact us directly if you have any questions regarding bringing your dog. ROASTING MARSHMALLOWS Enjoy the outdoors for much longer around the fire pit, cook up a meal, whilst telling stories and keeping toasty warm. ELECTRIC VEHICLES STAYING ATB LEN'S The nearest charging point is just over 5 miles away from Tor View Shepherds Huts, at Morrisons Supermarket in Wells (postcode BA5 1UA). WELLS England’s smallest cathedral city is just five miles away. The name derives from the three wells dedicated to St Andrew, one is in the Market Place where an outdoor market takes place on Wednesdays and Saturdays (it was first established in 1136 AD!), and two are in the grounds of the moated Bishop’s Palace and the magnificent Wells Cathedral. The Cathedral has a strong claim to be the most beautiful in all England with a wonderful West Front featuring about 300 medieval statues and its unique scissor arches supporting the main tower. The Vicar’s Close, originally built to house members of the still famous choir, is the only complete medieval street in England. Being so picturesque means that Wells is a popular location for shooting movies, most notably “The Canterbury Tales”, “The Golden Age” with Cate Blanchett as Elizabeth I, “The Libertine” with Jonny Depp as the notorious rake the Earl of Rochester, and “Hot Fuzz” with Nick Frost and Simon Pegg. The city has a wealth of cafes, boutiques and independent shops, plus three supermarkets (including a Waitrose for special picnic treats). There are plenty of pubs, excellent restaurants, a nightclub, cinema and leisure centre. Wells also hosts one of the UK’s best-illuminated carnivals, held in November. PLENTY OF FOOTPATHS No local bus stops as we are in the country. Maesbury Castle A short walk from the hut, on the hilltop behind you. It’s an Iron Age hill fort that’s 950ft above sea level. The Somerset Levels, at the foot of the hill, are marginally below sea level, so the views south and west are spectacular – they include Glastonbury Tor, the Quantock Hills, Brent Knoll and the Bristol Channel beyond. The views to the north and east are pretty special too. That’s because it was a boundary fort between the Romano-British Celts and West Saxons during the period 577- 652 AD, and they needed to see who was coming their way along the two Roman roads, one heading east-west and the other north-south, that intersect nearby (the former runs within a few hundred yards of the ramparts). Other things to note A few days prior to your arrival, you will receive our e mail access statement. Please ensure you print this prior to your departure and bring it with you, as we may not be here to greet you and you will not be able to access the property without this information.
