Harsil Heritage Homestay

Our homestay is situated above the Harsil market. Reaching there requires a short hike along a narrow path encompassed by tall pine trees. Our home offers a panoramic view of the entire Harsil Valley and the Bhagirathi river. Harsil is 25 km (1 hour) before 'Gangotri', making it the perfect layover spot before you begin your religious pilgrimage to the Gangotri temple. Our homestay is 2 km from Bhagori, a Tibetan colony. It also lies near other trekking routes. The space Harsil Heritage Homestay is located in Harsil Valley, Uttarkashi. It is situated atop a steep hill. Majestic views of the nearby hills and Bhagirathi river amidst an apple orchard surround it. It lies away from the hustle and bustle of Uttarkashi(80 km) and lies near Gangotri (25 km). If you are tired of the city, then Harsil is the perfect getaway to clear your mind and refresh your soul. Whether you want to go hiking, camping, swimming, or reconnect with nature, Harsil offers you various options. The space has two bedrooms. The bedrooms are on the first floor and offer a majestic view of the Bhagirathi river and the Harsil valley. There is a front porch adjoining the bedroom. You can unwind here throughout the day if you'd like. The homestay is adjacent to many short trekking routes and camping sites. You can also visit Gangnani (31 km)- a natural hot water spring. The place has been designed to incorporate traditional wooden architecture and modern amenities. The homestay is situated away from the primary Harshil market. You have to walk uphill for over 850 metres to reach the place. If you have any walking or health issues, the short hike uphill might be an issue for you. We would be delighted to assist you in making your travels as comfortable as possible, especially if you are accompanied by children or older adults. To that end, we are happy to arrange for a porter to help with your luggage. Just to let you know, the cost of the porter will need to be paid by the guest. The homestay is situated in Cholmi village. The locals subsist on harvesting agricultural crops of apples, beans and pears. Please respect the local culture and norms during your stay. Any loud, boisterous behaviour and listening to music at a high volume may disturb the locals and will not be appreciated. The local Harsil market is located at a distance of 1 km. You can find the essentials for cooking in the market. Other things to note We provide meals at a certain minimum cost. If you require meals, please message us in advance regarding your requirements and preferences.
