Discounts for > 2 day stays, and no cleaning fee The space Welcome to Lynmore Lockwood, a three-bedroom open-plan home with timber walls and high ceilings. I live in a separate cottage on the same property. Lynmore Lockwood has two bathrooms/toilets (both with showers, one with a bath, renovated August 2023), and a woodburning enclosed fire and four heatpumps (dining and all three bedrooms) for heating. Portacot and highchair are supplied for young guests The beauty of staying here is that it's only 150 metres to the start of well-maintained walking and riding trails in the forest. It's mountainbiking paradise; just a short ride or drive from the house and you'll be at the start of around 200 km of New Zealand's best collection of trails. Five minutes' drive up Tarawera Road gets you to the new MTB hub. The Redwoods Visitors Centre and redwood forest is a short walk or ride away. The house is a block away from a bus stop to town, and a block and a half away there’s a big park and kids’ playground. Motion Entertainment, a new indoor entertainment complex, is 15 minutes' walk. Four lovely lakes, Okareka, Blue, Green and Tarawera, are 10-30 minutes' drive - perfect for swimming and picnics. All included, unless I'm away, is my homemade fresh bread and coffee beans for you to grind - I'll leave them at the back door each morning. The full kitchen (induction hob, oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, espresso machine, air fryer) has everything you need for cooking and baking, and the dining area opens onto a large sunny deck with a Weber gas barbecue. There's a good selection of takeaways/restaurants nearby at the Redwood Shopping Centre and Lynmore Junction. For entertainment there's a 50 inch Smart TV and DVD player, a fairly eclectic selection of books, internet (free unlimited fibre WiFi and computer) and some board games. The master bedroom also has a wall-mounted TV. For your mountainbiking needs, the house has a secure garage, a few tools and a bikestand - so you can store and maintain your bikes easily. I have some more specialised tools and an air compressor at my place - just ask. The garden’s one of my hobbies; visit at the right time and you can pick tree-ripened fruit. Wake up early and open the window or sit on the deck and enjoy birdsong. All linen is supplied and the beds have decent mattresses. Both queen beds have electric blankets. Guest access The whole house and garage is yours Other things to note There is off-street parking for two small-medium-sized cars end-to-end in the driveway. Council regulations don't permit car parking on the grass verges outside the property.
