The Hideaway at Bamff Ecotourism

The Hideaway is an off-grid wooden cabin at the edge of a mature woodland, 100 metres from private road and parking place, overlooking two beaver ponds. Ecoshower in separate hut, (decommissioned in cold weather) and composting loo in woods behind. Wood stove (with an inital supply) and two ring gas camping stove with grill. Simple cooking and eating equipment provided. Comfortable king size bed (4 poster) made with wood cut by beavers!. Z bed and hammock. Linen and towels provided. The space There is a small dining table with wooden chairs and also two small but comfortable arm chairs for sitting by the fireside. The z-bed converts to a high table which you can sit at to look out over the beaver dams. A composting loo is available just a short walk away and is clean and comfortable. Guest access Guests have access to Bamff Estate and can walk along the woodland paths, around the beaver ponds, round the circuit of the Bamff drive or up on to Balduff Hill to take in the views. We are establishing a small farm shop at Bamff House and you can buy extra logs, charcoal, kindling, teas and coffees, fresh garden produce, fresh eggs (subject to availability). Souvenir mugs and tee shirts are also available for sale - proceeds go to the Scottish Wild Beaver Group (a charity). Other things to note We want you to enjoy your stay so we don't have a huge list of do's and dont's - however we would ask that you are quiet from around 8pm - 10pm in beaver watching season so that the beavers are not disturbed and can be seen. We also ask that you do not light bonfires in the woodland as there is a risk of forest fires.
