The space This is a renovated apartment in an “Italian Courtyard,” arguably the most unique feature of old Tbilisi. The place is located uphill, so be prepared for a climb :) Leading up to the apartment, you have the opportunity to explore tiny passages, leafy courtyards, cobbled roads, and other architectural gems. The apartment itself is on the ground floor, with the window looking out on an “Italian Courtyard,” a “traditional” Georgian housing structure with a yard located behind the facade, influenced by the Persian caravanserais, and designed to boost interaction and community spirit. Inspired by romantic Italian movies from the Soviet times, courtyards were named “Italian” to emulate intimate Italian lifestyle. Today, the courtyards are one of the most prominent symbols of Tbilisi’s past and an invaluable cultural heritage. The apartment is designed with an eye for comfort and aesthetics.
