Self contained luxury suite in Somerset village

Located in the vaulted barrel room of this former 17th Century Inn in the charming village of Great Elm, our guest suite is brimming with style and comfort. The George and Dragon is a rose clad cottage above the Mells river valley with its famous walks through ancient woodlands and the relics of old stone iron works. It has beautiful gardens with a lily pond and sunny and shaded seating areas. Nearby attractions include the City of Bath, Stourhead , Longleat and Babington House. The space With it’s log burner, reclaimed elm bed, Canadian goose down duvet and Egyptian cotton bed linen you are assured of a comfortable and luxurious retreat. The large bathroom features a walk in monsoon shower and Burlington sanitary ware. Breakfast is served in your own private dining room. Guest access We have ample free off road parking for several cars. The local bus (184) to the pretty town of Frome, 3 miles away stops directly outside the cottage (Monday - Saturday). Frome also has a mainline railway station. There are also local taxis. On warm summer days the back garden is usually available, but only for our guests. On occasion it maybe closed for private events. It is always locked at 9 pm. Other things to note We offer full service accommodation including your own private dining room for buffet breakfast (included in the room price) and optional cooked breakfast, all day unrestricted access to the guest suite, a private garden seating area, in-room snacks, refrigerated drinks and hot beverages.
