With hundreds of 5 stars across the board, our guests love it here and often return! Main House v. Guesthouse Details. Casa Azul (Main House): Guests will enjoy the 1800 SF, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and 2 living rooms, with sleeping options that include a cozy king and queen bed, 2 quality queen sleeper sofas with gel memory foam mattresses, and a custom emerald green down feather estate sofa (I dare you to not fall asleep on that one). Bedrooms are on opposite ends of the home, allowing evening privacy among guests. The Casita (Guesthouse): Up to 4 guests can enjoy the wholly separate 2-story, 750 SF, 1940’s renovated guesthouse, with private access and parking via the alley and a fenced courtyard well-suited for pets. In loft style, the upstairs features a king-size Purple mattress, as well as an apartment-size sofa, café table, and fully-stocked kitchen. Downstairs, you’ll find an Interior Define queen sleeper sofa with gel foam mattress, a full bathroom, oversized desk, 50” TV, and a walk-in closet. Please note for those with mobility limitations that the bed is upstairs and the bathroom is downstairs, but the sofa bed downstairs is wonderfully comfortable. The Casita enjoys shared access to the pool area, but has a private fenced courtyard for doggos! *Please note that at least one adult must accompany children in the Casita. It is not safe for unattended children under 18 years of age.* Elevated Moments at Casa Azul + the Casita. The kitchen is the heart of the main home with a 6 burner, gas Viking range and dual ovens, stocked for the traveling chef. If you prefer to hire a local chef to prepare a meal for you, we're happy to make the introduction. The walls are either covered floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the pool and bathe the entire home in natural light (with black out drapes and/or automatic shades in the bedrooms). Enjoy aromatic coffee (hot or iced), fresh rosemary and mint grown on site to garnish your cocktails or steaks, board games by the fire, or start your morning with a quiet meditation or yoga sun salutation. Outdoor Pool Area. The outdoor pool / hot tub area is an oasis, complete with chaise lounges, oversized pool towels, rafts, drink coozies, and more. Pool area hours are from 9 am to 10 pm on weekdays and until 11 pm on weekends, as a courtesy to our residential neighbors. If temps drop below 38 degrees, the pool equipment freeze protection will prevent the pool and hot tub from being heated (this goes for any pool and connected hot tub in Texas, not just ours). Although it typically only happens 1-2 times each winter, please consult the weather forecast before booking if these amenities are important to your decision to book! Concierge Services. Your host lives down the street and is happy to source whatever you need to make a great stay even more fabulous - ask us about stocking the fridge before your arrival, in-home massage, in-home mani/pedis, restaurant reservations, and recommendations for nearly any type of traveler. You're in the heart of Dallas, surrounded by restaurants and shops, but if you prefer Dallas come to you, we got you! We also stock "The Bodega", the canary yellow cabinet full of snacks, bevys, forgot-to-packs...like a hotel mini-bar, but better. :) Cleaning Details. We take cleaning very seriously - every dollar of our cleaning fee goes to our cleaning team and in turn, we train and oversee every turn on a "Monica from Friends" level of detail. ;) If for any reason there is anything that needs attention upon your arrival or during your stay, always feel welcome to reach out - we live just down the street and can attend to any needs on an expedited basis. House Rules and Security. The high-end nature of Casa Azul + the Casita is based on mutual respect and trust, on the expectation that our guests will review and honor the House Rules during their stay. Please review them in advance of booking to ensure the property is a good fit for you and your guests and that everyone will have a delightful stay. In an abundance of caution, please note that there are security cameras at all parking and entrance areas, as well as in the pool and pool equipment areas, recording at all times for liability and safety reasons. Additional Fees. Please note that much is included in the nightly rental rate, including accommodations for 4 adults (additional guest fees apply for 4+ guests, already built into the pricing when you select your guest count) to take care of our linens and our cleaning team, and to keep Casa Azul + the Casita fresh from general wear and tear that vacations bring!). If you plan to hosts friends or family during the day while staying with us, please contact us for approval and to coordinate the daily guest pass (much more economical than adding them to the entirety of the reservation). At least 2 days prior to your stay, please contact us for rates to heat the pool, depending on the weather and number of days. Extreme cold weather may impact pool and hot tub heating. We love pets and want them to be cozy, with beds, blankets, toys, treats, and poo bags all included in the one-time pet fee, regardless of the number of pets - just be sure to include the number of pets in the reservation details! Service animals are exempt, but please keep in mind they are required to remain with the guest at all times, even when leaving the property. First 2 hours of hot tub per day are on the house! You are welcome to purchase additional time. IF YOU HAVE MORE GUESTS AT ANY TIME WHICH EXCEEDS THE NUMBER REFLECTED ON THE RESERVATION WITHOUT PRIOR HOST APPROVAL AND PAYMENT OF APPLICABLE FEES, WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO IMMEDIATELY CANCEL YOUR RESERVATION WITHOUT REFUND AND/OR CHARGE AN UNAUTHORITZED GUEST FEE OF $100/PER PERSON. YOU ARE RENTING A HOME, NOT A PARTY / EVENT VENUE. THE HOME IS PRICED ACCORDINGLY. Kindly review the house guide and rules for additional details. Discounts. Lastly, please know that we do our best to price our home competitively while maintaining our standards of care for our home and our guests. It is shockingly spendy to operate a short term rental at a consistently high quality. 15.5ish % goes to Airbnb. 15% goes to City and State hotel taxes. Insurance is nearly double. Dallas property taxes have risen at the 3rd highest rate in the country since 2020. Things wear out and break, faster than you can imagine. We recognize we are not in everybody’s budget, but as an independently owned and operated small business, we are not in a position to offer further discounts. Weather, illness, flight delays or cancellations - It's cheap and easy. We simply cannot afford to make exceptions to our refund policy and it is painstakingly awful to decline when guests ask anyway.*** Guest access Guests will have 4 dedicated parking spaces - 2 in the front driveway + 2 in the alley gravel driveway + 2 parking passes for 2 additional vehicles to park streetside. Please park in the driveways before street parking - it's safer and a courtesy to our neighbors, many of which do not have garages. Guests will have access through the front door and rear gate with codes programmed for your stay. The few areas marked "private" are reserved for host / cleaning team use (e.g., garage, 2 kitchen cabinets). Other things to note Due to prior fraud, we will cancel bookings if the guest first and last name are not shown in full, if your phone number does not match your identity, if you you do not have a profile photo of your face (no icons, butterflys, etc.), or if you have a high ratio of stays without reviews (often, if hosts have nothing good to say, they will say nothing at all). The best experiences at Casa Azul + The Casita are had when our guests fully review the house rules prior to booking and upon arrival for a refresher, with emphasis on pool area considerations and hours, security devices, pet specifics, and pre-departure preparations.
