Ca Xuacu

There are stunning views of cliffs in the surrounding area, and the building is located between the lighthouses of Cabo Busto and Cavo Vidio. History of Ca Xuacu: at the end of the 18th century, a family of local farmers settled on these lands and, with money from their work as emigrants in Cuba and Latin America, built a large farmhouse for the time. It consisted of a stable on the ground floor and a living area on the upper floor, which showed the economic capacity of the farmers with the highest status. In 1900, the west wing of the house was built, expanding the house with a new, more modern kitchen on the lower floor and a dining room on the upper floor. Also built at this time was a bread oven attached to the house, which was accessed from the house through a passageway from the living room. Below this panera, it was used as a forge at first and then as a stable to shelter smaller animals. In 2000, Jose Luis, aware of the building's value, began its restoration to make four rural apartments. The entire process is done while maintaining the building style of the area, using mainly stone and wood. After five long years of rehabilitation, the building opened to the public in 2005. Since then, many people have passed through Ca Xuacu and shared their experiences with us.
