Viking Longhouse / Underground Hobbit Tiny house
Viking Longhouse / Underground Hobbit Tiny house
Description
This turf covered cabin is a blend of Viking longhouse and underground hobbit hideaway. It's in a beautiful spot in our orchard between the mountains and the sea on our small permaculture farm. Experience camping fire cooking, and clear starlit skies, whilst having a comfy bed, a kitchen, hot water, shower compost toilet and a wood burning stove to cosy round if it gets cold. All on our sustainable ecological farm which has lakes, woodlands and animals to find and explore. The space The Longhouse is a beautiful oak crafted underground cabin. Like any hobbit house, its cosy, clean and comfortable. It's super insulated and sits at the bottom of our orchard. Its 150 metres from the farm buildings and our bespoke 'nearly wild' campsite.. The cabin comes with bedding for the double bed and two single beds (if your group or family is bigger there are a few extra futon mattresses but you would have bring your own extra bedding. It has mains electric, warm water, wood burner, gas stove, pots and pans, crockery etc. As well as its own hot shower and compost toilet. The farm is very much a working farm rather than centre parks but we love people exploring the whole site, saying hello and learning about what we are doing. We are very much leading the way in small scale regenerative farming and are known on a international scale for Permaculture Farming. We also have: Lots of beautiful fairy land style meadows, woodland, small lakes (with a boat) and streams for you to explore - Woodland hammocks for you to swing in - Friendly lambs for you to play with (sometimes) - Eggs that you can collect yourself - Home produced Bacon, Sausages and beef (when available) - Beautiful views of the both the sea and mountains - Salad and veg that you can pick from the garden - The beach is less than two miles away - A compost toilet with amazing views - A converted cow shed with maps and books, sofas, fridge and freezer, microwave, wi-fi etc. - A shower, flush toilet and washing machine in the farmyard (about 100m away) We do allow dogs, we don't really encourage them but we do recognise that they are often part of your family. Any dogs brought with you must be well controlled at all times, cleaned up after and we also ask that you leave a £10 donation for the cleaner. Have a look at our website, type in Henbant to find out more. Guest access You have the run of the whole farm, we encourage you to explore, to get involved.. though we do ask you to stay away from the cows and the bee hives Other things to note We have lots of seasonal activities that you can get involved in, hay making, gardening, egg collecting etc .. Sometimes however we have a young family and are very busy and we may have less time to spend on the farm with you. We don't automatically provide towels, they are just too much for our washing machine.. For those traveling lite however we do have a big pile for those who need them.
