The space Welcome to this beautiful, country cottage with extensive flower gardens, fields and woods just one mile from State park hiking/horseback trails. The rustic location on a gravel road has comfortable amenities, including ramp access to the front porch and through the front door to the main living room. The main floor queen-bed, private bedroom has two closets, dresser, chest of drawers, bedside tables and a small work station/desk. Full bath with tub, and adjoining complete laundry room are right across the hall. A spacious loft with king size bed, dresser and bedside tables also has an antique roll top desk workstation with vintage desk accessories, and a large closet and full bath ensuite. A long, lazy front porch with rockers, tables, a porch swing and a mountain pasture view invites you to breathe the country air and forget your troubles. Off the kitchen/dining area is a deck with a bistro set to enjoy your morning coffee or tea in the sun or shade. This quaint home is dedicated to Sue Mason, its original owner and our mother, who dubbed it her "Wee Cottage." She was a master gardener, a lover of antiques, and was dedicated to her family. You can find little parts of her history throughout the place, including antique family quilts, a classic pecan dining set, and an extensive collection of fine china and glassware/stemware for setting an attractive table. The galley-style kitchen is fully equipped with flatware, sharp knives, coffee maker, Blue Diamond pots and pans, Oxo utensils, and your choice of placemats, napkins and dish towels. We keep the kitchen stocked with coffee and cooking staples. Quality bed linens, luxurious towels, and Persian-style rugs finish out the experience. The sofa is comfortable enough to sleep on, and there are cable-accessed TV's in the main room and the Queen Bedroom. Wifi access throughout. The hosts live on adjoining property and are only a phone call away. Our cleaning fee is what we pay-we strongly believe in paying a living wage:~) Guest access Access off Culler Rd. onto Little Creek Lane is a 1/2 mile gravel drive, down hill and then take a slight left at the Riverbirch Lane sign where the land becomes flat and the woods come into view. We recommend pulling up to the ramp off of the front porch to unload and then parking near the patio at the rear of the house, depending on how many cars are involved in your group. A parking lot for Pilot Mtn. State Park trails is at the intersection of Pinnacle Hotel Rd. and Culler Rd. on your way in and is only a mile from the cottage. Other things to note Charcoal and light fluid are in grill on back patio-there's a grilling set next to back deck door.
