'Alltwen' is a private gem on a traditional block-paved street within the old town walls of the Royal Town of Caernarfon. Built around 1800, the property has high ceilings and was thoroughly renovated to include a Welsh slate and Italian travertine bathroom, oak kitchen, and underfloor heating. The town's famous Inns, Palace shopping street, Waterfront, Castle, Highland Railway are all just around the corner. We offer 10% discount for a week, or 30%/month, and 28hrs between guests. The space Alltwen feels safe, solid and homely. We renovated it from a shell and it was our home for several years. We only moved because our family grew. We still dearly miss living there! Alltwen is ideal for a couple or small family to enjoy the area for as long as you like, or perhaps two couples needing a base for some outdoor pursuits. The generous main bedroom has a king size bed and large mirrored wardrobe, and hairdryer, iron and ironing board. There are fixed *but steep* stairs to the loft room with one small double bed and one single bed. There's also a fold-away cot/crib for an infant, along with baby bath, and changing mat. The travetine bathroom is luxurious. To the rear is a private courtyard garden with covered decking and table ideal for BBQs. There's a shed, hose, and its fully enclosed so very secure for keeping bikes, walking gear or kayaks Other things to note Caernarfon is unique for so many reasons, and one of them is Cymraeg, our country's native tongue. In Caernarfon, Cymraeg is a living language spoken by over 80% of the town's bilingual population! There is nowhere better to hear it in everyday use on the streets and in shops and cafes. Cycling and running is great around here, with traffic-free cycle paths and lanes to explore. Bikes can be hired just around the corner at the waterfront.
