Valley View Cabin-Fosterton Retreat

Beautiful accommodation in a fully self-contained cabin, with panoramic views of the Barrington Tops. A separate queen bedroom and bathroom with spa bath, well equipped kitchenette and lounge area, full size stove and fridge, microwave, BBQ, verandah & private firepit. Linen is supplied. Ideal for a romantic weekend away. This cabin has a pull out lounge if you are travelling with friends. There is other accommodation on the 100 acre property but they are well set out to provide privacy. The space We call this our romantic cabin. One of only 3 dwellings on 100 mostly wooded acres, faces north, with delightful views. Sit on the verandah and watch the sunset or relax in the spa bath after a hard day’s bushwalking. Enjoy a BBQ or prepare food in the well equipped kitchenette, then later settle under the stars at your own outdoor firepit. The bathroom has a spa bath with a shower over it and there is a solar hot water system, with a booster switch near the glass front door. A half hour will reheat the water on those overcast or wintery days, so there is always plenty to go round. After waking to birdsong and wallabies grazing, take a picnic and swim in the flowing Williams River 2km away; take leisurely walks, maybe to the pristine “Die Happy” creek. Picnic blankets and picnic gear are provided for use on the property or down by the river. There are 3 labyrinths on the property: the 11 circuit, the 5 circuit or the wild one amongst the ironbark trees allow meditative walks for experiential reflection. Guest access Fosterton Retreat- Valley View Cabin is reached via an all weather roads. The Fosterton Loop is well signposted and forms part of the network of tourist drives in the area. If there has been prolonged heavy rain or flooding the bridge at Newells Crossing might be out of action, there is another way to access our property and we will update you with these directions if needed. It will mean going over the railway line and 2.5 kms later turning into Fosterton Road. When you get to Moylans Road it will be a righthand turn and the rest of the directions are the same after that. Other things to note On the property there is another cabin nearby and a House a few hundred metres up the hill. The layout means that each dwelling has their own fire pit and privacy is optimised. Dungog is a high rainfall area but whenever staying in the country and planning to have a fire it is important to check the local conditions. Search NSW Rural Fire Service- Fire danger ratings and total fire bans' for current fire bans- we are region '3' on the map. In the interest of health and safety please consider the following: If in the week before your visit: You been diagnosed with, or suspect that you have contracted, or have symptoms for COVID-19, then please don not come to our property. However, we realise people do their best, but if due to the covid-19 pandemic you need to cancel your booking (even at the last minute) due to a government health order, with proof, we will try and shift your booking or give you a refund. Please contact us asap. We have solar heated water, the switch is to the right of the front door. Our place is where you can get to know yourself, your travel partner and nature, so there is no wi-fi, but there is a TV with free to air channels & a few DVDs (yes old school) and 101 acres of nature on your doorstep.
