Description

Comfortable 100 year old granite cottage with large contemporary extension, nestled on a beautiful 8acre bush property just 15min from The Grampians. Enjoy fireside chats, stargazing, bushwalks and lazy days in the hammock. 10min to Stawell shops&cafe's. It's an escape from the everyday, for young romantics (at heart), the adventurous, people who want to unplug and get back to nature. Near The Grampians but far from tourists. *BYO bedsheets/dooner&pillow covers/towels/teatowel/bathmat * The space Designed by world renowned architect Greg Burgess, this rustic dedicated Air Bnb works great for medium to large groups looking for a place to stay together whilst maintaining privacy. The 100 year old cottage area has two queen sized beds which are separated by a pot belly fire and several comfy couches. The master bedroom in the contemporary renovation has a queen size bed and the separate studio has a queen downstairs and a queen and one single bed in the loft. This area also has a pot belly wood fire. There are three convenient split system heating/cooling units or you can scavenge for firewood and use the pot belly fire places. If hunting for firewood is not your thing, feel free to BYO firewood from home or purchase a bag from almost any petrol station. There are large outdoor sheltered dining areas, as well as smaller garden nooks where a couple might have breakfast or sit and enjoy a glass of wine whilst watching kangaroos feed in the evening. The fire pit is great for friends to gather around, tell stories and roast marshmallows. Again, firewood will need to be scavenged from the surrounding forest but there's certainly no shortage of fallen branches to burn. A huge trampoline located near the fire pit is a great way to occupy the kids and burn off their excess energy:) Guest access You will have the whole place to yourselves. Have a wander around the various wings of the house and choose the room that best suits you. With it's own bathroom, potbelly fire and bushland views, the studio is a home within a home and just a few steps from the main house. Other things to note We supply pillows doona’s and blankets but not the bed sheets, doona covers, pillow cases, tea towels, shower mats or body towels. Please bring your own. If it's cold, there are spare woollen blankets located in a wooden chest in the studio. The modem is located in the studio / TV space and so the signal is strong there. Unfortunately the signal does not reach most other rooms. We supply essentials like soap and toilet paper. The kitchen is well equipped with cooking utensils, pots, pans, microwave, toaster, kettle, coffee plunger, cutlery, plates, cups and wine glasses etc. Due to bushfire risk, the outdoor fire pit is not to be used in summer. We rely on rain water so please use water responsibly. Please let me know if you’d like an early check in or late checkout and I’ll endeavour to make it happen. If there is another booking on the same day it will not be possible.
