Lanthorn house is a 200 year old, 5 bedroom stone house full of character and original features which has been completely renovated and sympathetically modernised. Set on an unmade, unnamed lane within 5 minutes walk of Porthcothan Bay - a beautiful dog friendly, surfing beach with life guards at peak times. At low tide it opens up to a vast expanse of sand with amazing rock formations and caves. The property has private gardens and far reaching views over the valley to the Atlantic Ocean. The space Lanthorn house sleeps 10 in 5 bedrooms. (Master bedroom - en-suite, super king bed , wardrobe, chest of drawers, and patio doors leading to a balcony with direct access to the garden; Bedroom 2 - super king bed which can be split into twin mattresses, wardrobe and chest of drawers; Bedroom 3 - King bed and wardrobe; Bedroom 4 - twin single beds and hanging rail; Bedroom 5 - bunk beds and chest of drawers. There are 3 bathrooms - ensuite with walk in rain shower; family bathroom with P shaped bath and shower over; downstairs bathroom with rain shower. It has 2 separate sitting rooms - one on the ground floor and one on the first floor. 2 SMART TVs - one in the master bedroom and one in the upstairs sitting room. The kitchen/breakfast room has an extendable pine table and is very well equipped with a range cooker, microwave, coffee machine, slow cooker, 2 fridges and a small freezer. There is a separate dinning room with table sitting 10, original dresser and books and games. There are log burners with fireguards in both the downstairs lounge and dinning room. The house has high speed internet access and a study area for anyone needing to work during their stay. The large garage has a utility area at the back with washing machine/sink/tumble dryer/clothes airer and large towel rail. The front of the garage is a wet day games area with darts and table football. There are 3 areas of garden - at the front of the house there is a patio with table and 4 chairs, a charcoal BBQ and a grass area with table and bench seating 8; on the mid terrace there is a grass lawn for games, a bench and a love seat for sunbathing and on the top terrace steps up to a seating area for 10 looking over the top of the house to the sea. The top terrace of the garden is steep so is separated by a gate and should only be accessed by children under adult supervision. At the front of the house there is a hot shower for washing away all that sand and a large porch. There is ample parking for 5 cars in the drive and access to electric car charging point with card reader charging. Guest access You will be able to access the entire house. In the garage there is one locker which is locked where we store our personal items. Other things to note We have a local property management company that can deal with any emergencies during your stay. All houses on the lane are on a septic tank so we ask guests not to dispose of anything other than toilet paper down the lavatories.
