Description
A charming, spacious farmhouse in a fantastic location with many good hiking and fishing opportunities. The house was built by my great-uncle in the 1930s. Living here is like going back in time with old original furniture from that time. The house is slightly secluded from the main road, which provides a lovely, peaceful atmosphere and it´s safe for children to play outside. There are toys and games in the house and outside there is a garden with fruit trees and berries that can be picked! The space It is a 5 min drive to Byrkjelo center where you will find a grocery store and a charming bakery called BakarJon that sells locally produced food and has its own cafe. There are also swimming opportunities at Byrkjelo Camping which has its own swimming pool open to the public. A 15 minutes drive by car you reach Utvikfjellet with ski lifts and nice hiking and skiing opportunities in the winter time. 20 minutes drive northwest is Sandane which is a little town that has several shops and the local center called Trivselshagen where you will find a nice swimming pool for the children, a library and a cinema. You can also go for a nice walk in the forrest called Trivselsskogen. There you walk through the magical forrest of love called Kjærleiksskogen before you reach Draumekvila, a little cabin which is about 200 meters above sea level . A trip that suits everyone and can really be recommended! About an hour drive you get to the tourist places Olden and Loen where you can walk Via Ferrata and take the Loen Skylift. In Stryn you can visit the Summer Ski Center where you can go skiing all year round. It is also an hour's drive south to Førde where you can enjoy life in the city. A 40 minutes drive south you can visit Astruptunet in Jøster. A beautiful place that was the home of the Norwegian painter Nicolai Astrup. It has now been turned into an idyllic museum with many nice paintings to look at. 50 min southeast of Byrkjelo is the beautiful little place Fjærland. This is an exciting place to visit where you can find The Norwegian Book Town. Here you can look at and buy used books or you can go to the Norwegian Glacier Museum which is great fun for the kids, Guest access It is easiest to get around in the area with your own car, but there is a possibility for bus connections from the main road (E39) about 15 min walk from the house. There are good paring opportunities outside the house.
