Description
A warm welcome to your home in beautiful Ghana! When you are far off from home it’s always nice to know someone cares, and we do! Worried about logistics, breakfast, WIFI, laundry and your overall comfort? We ensure all your needs are met to make your stay as relaxing and productive as possible. Your room is found on our tropical garden property in the center of Accra. It is very close to the airport and university. With 300+ satisfied guests, your room is ideal for most. The space ➧ Breakfast Breakfast is served up to 9 am except for Sundays & Holidays ➧ The basics You have a big bedroom complete with a double bed, table, and chairs for a sitting area, as well as a wardrobe. The room has many windows so its bright during the day when you want it to be, but just a pull on the curtains is enough to make the space very cozy, so it is your choice. A fan and A/C unit* in the room helps you keep your cool in the Ghanaian heat. Attached to your room are your bathroom and toilet. ➧ The styling The space is lovingly styled with a noticeable contemporary African touch. Paintings from Ghana, brass sculptures from Mail and wooden statues from Nigeria, to name a few, decorate the room. Most of the items and artwork found in the rooms come from the art shop, which is also located in our garden. If you see something you like, you are free to take it with you for a very reasonable price. The shop provides you with a further selection of unique pieces that you can purchase as mementos, gifts, and artifacts for your home back home. ➧ The home away from home When you are far off from where you call home it’s always nice to know someone cares, and we do! We just love hosting people in our place and hearing all the varying stories you have to offer from your part of the world and your journey. You are invited to share these with us over a warm meal in the house and we are generally always open for a cordial chit chat :) Nevertheless, your personal space is important to us as well and you have many places asides from your room where you can just sit and have some quality time with yourself and your thoughts. (Secret Tip: The Garden is awesome for this!) Should you get ill or have some other kind of problem we are always here to assist you and make sure you´re OK! Guest access Asides from your room, there is a beautiful garden to sit in. Ducks make the garden even more interesting. There is also a big common area where you can lounge on the couches or sit at the dinner table. Of course, there is also the art shop which we previously mentioned. This is something really special in Accra. You get to browse unique items from all over Africa (and a few from outside the continent) in peace and quiet; it is pretty much guaranteed that you find something cool for yourself and for loved ones. Coming and goings from the compound are free within good reason. There is a bell which you can ring and someone will come get you from the gate. In this way, the home is kept secure. WiFi is accessible all over the compound at no extra cost. During your stay Guest interaction starts from when you land at Kotoka. We can arrange for a driver to get you and your luggage here, quickly and hassle-free. But like everything else here, that's your choice. We are happy to chat and offer tips should you want to. The warm atmosphere in the house is mirrored very well in the comments and ratings from our many guests. Have a look through before coming :) The comfortable common areas promote as well as good, light-hearted communication between guests. For instance, it is often the case that you hear some Ph.D. students discussing a seminar that they both happened to visit at the nearby university. Other things to note The rooms are open for both short and long-term stays. We (the hosts) lives on the first floor of the main building on the property. Three of the seven Airbnb rooms are in the main building, whereas the other three are detached from the main building. This fact is not of great importance but is probably nice to know.
