'Fox Cottage', just a stroll to Waikouaiti beach!

‘Fox Cottage’, nestled into the grounds of ‘Garden Lodge’. Tui’s, Bellbirds & Fantails, this beautiful spacious one bedroom home offers comfort & warmth for all seasons. Just a stroll to Hawkesbury Lagoon, white sandy beaches of Waikouaiti & Karitane, 30 min drive South to Dunedin City & 35 mins North to Moeraki’s boulders. The perfect place to stay while travelling the stunning South Island coast. The space The living areas: Enjoy the all day sun indoors & outdoors and for those evenings you want to relax, kick off those shoes, roll down those blinds & put your feet up while enjoying your favourite program, netflix movie or stream direct from your iphone/android direct to the flat screen tv and chill! Stay cozy and warm with the heat pump for those cooler nights. The dining area: Combined with the lounge, the dining area is a great place to enjoy your morning breakfast, home cooked meals or that superb takeaway from the award wining Waikouaiti Fish Inn, which has something for everyone. Kitchen: Decisions, decisions….we took out the full size oven & replaced it with a brand new washing machine as we know, even when we’re on holiday, the washing needs to be done, we even provide the liquid. But wait!…don’t panic, there is a great combo microwave, 2 x induction cooking top and all the plates, bowls, pots, pans, utensils you’ll need….we’ve even put in a new spacious under bench fridge, which also comes with ice cubes for those G&T nights (or days). Bedroom: Super comfy quality queen size bed with quality bedding and a selection of pillows & cushions. Plenty of drawers & hanging space & room for your cases. Bathroom: Don’t worry, the shower is on gas so take those extra long showers if you need to. There is a heat lamp & heater to keep you toasty warm. And for those who forgot to bring a hairdryer…we have you covered! Outside: Quite a dramatic rustic entrance with plenty of off street parking but once you are through that wee gate, the place is yours. Great outdoor deck & if the sun is out, it’s there…a place to enjoy a glass of bubbles or what ever your tipple! The Property: The house, which we have named, ‘Garden Lodge’ was built in 1906 & was designed by the renowned architect of the day, ‘Basil Hooper’. It is believed that Basil designed it for ‘The Rattrays’ for their beach house. Over the years the home has had several owners adding their own special touches, including ‘Fox Cottage’, while maintaining what Basil, we’re sure, would approve of for todays living.
 If we are all lucky enough to be in on your stay at ‘Fox Cottage’ & you have time for a coffee then we’d love to say hi! Guest access You have your own separate private entrance to the property, with plenty of parking and space to manoeuvre. Check in details will be sent prior to your arrival. Other things to note We do have two wee dogs, Maisie & Buddy. They will welcome you with a few barks but do settle down. They are kept separate from 'Fox Cottage' but you are most welcome to come & visit them & say hi. If you experience any issues or need help with anything, please don't hesitate to message or come over. IMPORTANT: Please make sure the door handle has not been locked on the inside unless you are leaving. You may find yourself locked out. However, if this does happen, please call me ASAP as we have an emergency key available in the lock box, which must be put straight back if used.
