Waterfront Fishing Cottage at Badin Lake: This cozy waterfront cottage rest quietly, under the trees at the back of a small cove. Located at Uwharrie National Forest, just about an hour from Charlotte, NC. Perfect for a romantic retreat or family getaway and hands down the best fishing around! The dock sits right on a brim bed so you don't have to be an expert to catch a big one, no sir! Even the kids will fish like pros! Come grab a kayak, pull out the paddle boat, and have a great time!~ The space Now this ain't the Ritz but it is a neat old fishing cottage. We don't want to host folks that are going to complain saying the house is old, dirty or needs repairs. We know it aint perfect... but its fun! This little cottage sits on 8 miles of lake and at the edge of 50,000 acers of forest. So that means there are deer, racoons, coyote, snakes, bugs and all kinds of critters. We don't give refunds because you saw a bug. If you see a bug squish it. If its dead throw it away. We do our best to take care of the critters that get too close to the home, but one may sneak in every once and a while. Critters are critters and they are just looking to find a safe place to stay. The cool thing about a lake property is you get all of the sounds and smells of being out in nature. You get to fall asleep to the sounds of crickets and wake to ducks playing in the water teaching their babies to swim. You can lay in the hammock and watch the clouds go by or you can go to the chicken coop and get eggs for breakfast. You can take the kayaks out to explore or toss a hook off the dock and catch dinner. What ever you do, take this time to kick back and enjoy! Guest access Guests will get a code to enter the property before check in. We also have a glass screen door that we ask be carefully shut all the way as to not break the spring or let the wind carry it away - we sometimes get wind kisses off the lake :] Other things to note We can't wait to share with you why we love this old house.
