Aheloy is a town in Southeastern Bulgaria, part of the municipality of Pomorie, Burgas region. The Aheloy River flows near Aheloy. The area is suitable for both freshwater fishing (r. Aheloy) and for marine fish (Black Sea). This is where the battle took place near the Aheloy, in which on August 20, 917, Tsar Simeon I defeated a Byzantine army of many thousands.
