This brilliantly located, unique and solid, older, single level, detached, north-facing ground floor apartment is one of 16 in the complex and has street frontage alongside many heritage buildings. With its own adjacent, separate carpark and a small, delightful outdoor courtyard garden, it is surprisingly quiet, with all amenities close by. It is available for exclusive occupancy of a minimum two nights when it is not required for our personal use. The space Northcote’s Westgarth precinct is a vibrant mix of old and new, cafes, restaurants, great shopping and the iconic Westgarth Cinema in nearby High Street. Westgarth Station is a 3 minute walk away and the number 86 tram a 6 minute walk away, so getting in and out of the city, and dropping into popular places en route, is very easy. Oldis Gardens and Merri Creek’s picturesque walking and cycling tracks are equally short distances away. The apartment is light, clean and fresh and very well maintained with normal wear and tear for its age. There are security screened windows and a shared walkway security gate (which you may occasionally hear closing). The intercom system and key locked windows enhance security. A reverse cycle AC quickly heats or cools the space. There is also heaps of hot water, A parquetry floor in the kitchen, living and bedroom areas complements the tasteful, good quality furniture with a distinct mid-century vibe. The leather, fold back couch makes a great daybed that you can chill out on after a hard day’s work or sightseeing. Upon your arrival you will find a selection of teas, instant and ground coffee, milk (sorry, usually long life), spreads, breakfast cereal and select freezer and fridge provisions. The kitchen is well serviced with oven/hot plates, invector microwave, toaster and electric kettle and you will find good quality crockery and cooking implements in the cupboards, along with a range of condiments. The compact bedroom has a comfortable queen sized bed with good quality cotton sheets and covers. Here you will also find ample cupboard space for storing suitcases and hanging clothes. In the bathroom/laundry there is an alcove washing machine, bath with over-shower, basin and toilet. A light, fresh room, this has extensive mirrors and an elevated, private window that can be opened. Again you will find many basics in the cupboards. Please note that we enjoy reading and going to the cinema so there is just a small portable TV. There is no clothes drier or dishwasher but we have never found this to be a problem. The clotheshorse works well either inside or outside. This apartment is a perfect base for your stay, being a 25 minute drive to Melbourne Airport, when traffic is light, and within easy reach by car are the Dandenongs, Mount Macedon and the beautiful Mornington Peninsula.
