Description
A traditional Welsh long-house located just above the famous Festival book town of Hay on Wye with breath-taking views across three counties. The space A secluded 3 bedroom self catering cottage located on Offa's Dyke footpath above Hay-on Wye, with large garden, private access and ample parking. The property is surrounded by fields and woodland and within easy walking distance of the Hay Festival Site (c10 mins) and the famous book town of Hay-on-Wye (c15 mins) with its many country pubs and independent shops. In the other direction, it is also quite possible to walk up across farmland and quiet lanes to reach Hay Bluff and the Black Mountains. The cottage fronts onto Hay Common bringing with it an enormous amount of walkable, explorable, just-sit-down-on-able hillside with breath-taking views. Two log burning stoves (as well as oil central heating) heat the property. Fresh spring water is drawn from the 60 foot brick lined well - don't worry this is all automated and treated before it comes out of the taps - and there is a fully appointed modern kitchen complete with beautiful Welsh slate worktops. Three bedrooms accommodate two double beds and one single in a traditional Welsh long-house style. The property is a comfortable, fully appointed family home as opposed to a regular holiday rental and we have end-to-end fibre installed to the premises, meaning we have one of the fastest, most reliable internet connections in the UK today. The house is 1km from the nearest lane, accessed via a farm track. We have a small number of chickens and ducks, so if you'd like to collect fresh eggs each morning you'll need to be happy with feeding them and shutting them in each night. If this isn't your thing we can arrange for them to go on holiday with a neighbour : ) Guest access You have the whole house to yourselves. Other things to note This is a traditional Welsh long cottage and you have to walk through bedroom 2 to access bedroom 3. There is one bathroom - see pictures.
