La Mer is a quaint hillside bungalow, located between the Arabian Sea and the Phansad Wildlife Sanctuary, in Kashid. The open garden and natural surroundings make it a great place for bird watching (hornbills, paradise fly catchers...). The property is also occasionally visited by wild animals such as Malabar flying squirrels, monkeys and peacocks. Kashid beach is a short 10 minute walk away, making La Mer a unique villa, offering the joys of a beach holiday and a homestay in the lap of nature. The space La Mer offers guests 4 bedrooms which are airconditioned, 4 ensuite bathrooms, a kitchen equipped with a refrigerator, water purifier, microwave oven and cooking facilities, washing machine, living and dining areas, a gorgeous all weather veranda, a large lawn, an additional work space/study room, high speed internet (around 150 - 200 mbps which is available most of the time, but cannot be guaranteed as we are dependent on the service provider), power back up for fans, lights and refrigerator. Please note that we do not have staff quarters and hence cannot provide accommodation for staff. Our caretaker is there from 10am to 6pm after which our gardner will come in around 10 pm and stay in the outhouse just in case he is required for anything at night. Guest access To get to Kashid, you can either drive or, if you are coming from Mumbai, you can use the M2M Ferry (a large Ro-Ro ferry service that transports cars and passengers) from Ferry Wharf or the passenger ferry services (PNP, Ajanta) or speed boats from the Gateway of India to Mandwa jetty and then drive to Kashid. Chauffeur driven cars can be hired from Mandwa Jetty but should be booked in advance. Please let me know if you need help finding a car hire service. Parking for 4 cars is available on the private road outside La Mer.. There are no taxis or autos for local use in Kashid so its best to bring your own car or hire one. Please note that we do not provide accommodation or any other facilities for drivers and staff. Other things to note The price quoted is for a maximum of 6 guests. 2 children below the age of 2 years can be accommodated at no additional cost. A extra fee of Rs. 1999per guest per night will apply to every additional guest regardless of age. Our check in is at 2pm (strict) and check out is at 11am (strict) so please plan your trip accordingly Complimentary tea, coffee and sugar sachets are available. Home cooked food is available on order and can be delivered to you. Please let us know if you would like a list of people supplying food in the area. There are also a few local restaurants and eateries nearby. You can personally use our kitchen to cook light meals if you want, however you will need to bring your own ingredients. There is a lot to see and do in the area. Kashid beach is a beautiful 3 km stretch of sand with water sports in season at one end for the adventurous, you can visit the sea forts in the area, the Korlai lighthouse and fort and also the Phansad Wildlife Sanctuary. At La Mer, there is a club level carrom board, a garden badminton set, books and board games. Kashid and the area around is a great place if you're an enthusiastic angler.
