The Old Barn - 14 guests with extra single beds

The Old Barn is a comfortable, stylish and well equipped home. Enter through the courtyard into huge living room, a lovely stone dining room, and an enormous well equipped kitchen. There is a large terrace opening onto our own fields. Upstairs are 7 bedrooms, with 6l en suite. Guests have exclusive use of the 11x5 m pools, and the secluded grounds with lovely views. There are many interesting sites and the Pyrenees within easy reach. The space Le Puget is a comfortable and secluded country estate set in the rolling foothills of the Pyrenees. From the gardens, you reach the entrance through a pretty courtyard built in the local golden stone. The old barn is very large (about 450 sq m). Downstairs, there is a huge living room with an open fire and a library area, a separate stone dining room with another open fire, and a big well equipped kitchen, all with doors onto the terrace or courtyard. Upstairs, there are 6 en suite bedrooms, simple but comfortable. Open fire places, wooden beams, tiled or wooden floors, fit well with our own more modern and uncluttered style. Le Puget is our own home and furnished and equipped to a high standard. Outside, the large private terrace looks out over the wild flower meadows, sun flower and wheat fields, the valley that opens up below us, and across to oak woods. The views are lovely. There are gardens, an orchard, a 11m swimming pool , a private lake, covered parking, table tennis and football, and a pool table. We have no immediate neighbours apart from the ancient Chateau next door; this is a tranquil and relaxed place to be. We can also offer you extra housekeeping, and arrange bike hire, massages, horse rides, and other treats. There is a huge range of things to see and do within an hour in every direction. Our local town, Mirepoix, has one of the most lovely medieval town squares in France, cafes and restaurants and shops, and an excellent Monday market. Carcassonne is about 30 minutes, and you can see one of the Cathar castles in the Pyrenees from our land. Guest access The pool, the gardens and orchards, and our own surrounding fields. There are great walks from the door into the rolling hills and fields that surround us. Other things to note We provide good linen and towels for the bath and pool. All beds will be made up for when you arrive.
