Cosy, arty well-loved cottage full of character!

Near the university and a perfect base for studying, walking or sight-seeing. I welcome pets (with a quick chat first please!) The room is a large airy space overlooking the South Downs. Continental breakfast included. Coffee, tea, microwave, toaster, all mod cons in kitchen. Cooking and laundry by arrangement: happy for you to use the kitchen if necessary just let me know! Look for 79 Norwich drive. (.6 miles into Norwich drive). We're the white house with the white picket fence opposite, number 46. I've set the room up so you can study, relax, enjoy yourself. There's a selection of quirky artefacts from my life and travels. Loads of books in the house! Please read them, and put them back. There's no longer a tv in the room, but the wifi connection is strong, and the king size bed, (which isn't in the photo) and mattress, are new. Cotton sheets, a lovely continental breakfast (with fresh free range eggs if the hens are laying!) and real fires (in winter) are part of this home. It's a cosy, slightly scruffy home packed with books and various treasures from my years of working with in Africa. I work from home, and there's a local shop in walking distance (for the basics) a community pub, and a larger supermarket 10 minutes by bus, which stops more or less opposite the house. The nearest train station is moulscombe, which is a 15 minute walk away, or 7 minutes by bus. Car or motorbike parking is free, and easy. I can store your bike(s) in the garage If you want to use the washing machine or cook, I'll need a small contribution. Brighton university is 15 minutes walk; University of Sussex 20 minutes away (walking across the downs) or 30 minutes away via 2 buses- 48 and then 25/25x/29 The pier/seafront/The Lanes are all 20-35 minutes away (depending on traffic) and one bus ride. Perfect base for the festivals (theatre, film and comedy) and Pride. (Queer friendly home). Please lock all windows and doors when going out. Many thanks! *A small note* People with very hay fever, serious allergies and asthma might not have a good time here- it's a bit dusty! (We're right on the downs so flowers/pollen can be present). Also there is a cat, and chickens. Guest access The largest bedroom in the house is your's. The patio for spring/summer breakfasts when the weather is clement! Disabled access isn't great I'm afraid. The property is set back from the road and there are 10 steps down, and then the bedroom is up a small flight of stairs. I won't be able to help lift your luggage- I've got a serious back problem. Happy to let you use the kitchen and stuff in it although if you cook I'll need a small contribution. There's storage in the garage. During your stay I have a busy life, but will try and be on hand to answer questions, help with transport, maps, things to do and ideas, but not really to socialise at the moment. I'm on hand to tell you my favourite pubs, beaches, walks....tucked away villages. There's 1000's of books in the house. Please read them, and please put them back when you're done! If you are here when my housemate is here too, please be sensitive to his living arrangements! He's studying and working hard. Please contact me. Other things to note There's a ten pound deposit for the key. I want you to feel safe, happy and welcome, and I've put some of my precious sentimental nick nacks in the room- please treasure them as you would your own! If you'd prefer them to not be in the room please let me know, I'll take them out. If you break anything or it goes missing I'll need it replaced or a contribution please. If my housemate is around please be respectful of his need to study and keep the noise down after 10pm please.
