Cozy Artist's House, Nardò Historic Center

Welcome to my home! I renovated my home with myself, the artist, in mind. I can not always be in Italy so I can offer it to guests to share the beauty of Nardò and the Salento region of Puglia. The space Casa d'Artista is on a quiet street of the historic center of Nardò. Being a ground floor house, its very easy to move in and out. It is within 7 minute walk to Piazza Salandra. Free parking is available outside the "ring" wall of the historic center, easy walking distance. There is NO parking or unloading at my house, but 2 minute walk away, at Bar Plaisir, there is free one hour parking. Casa d'Artista is ideal for a couple but 4 people can also be comfortable here. There is a nice size dining room, with original entry/exit from the street (and courtyard), living room with fireplace with a high end Italian couch, coffee table, work table and shelves. There is a small size sleeping sofa in the dining room for additional sleeping for children. (note: 2floor bedroom may not be suitable for children) The master bedroom has an en suite bathroom, large armadio with washer, dryer and cleaning supplies. Use dryer only in winter months. (Note: the high ceiling here is open over the armadio to the bathroom. Therefore you can hear some noise. Also there is a small skylight here which is not covered so some morning light is evident but nothing direct: otherwise this bedroom is nice and dark for sleeping) The bathroom has traditional "cementine" tile, a marble top sink, toilet and bidet and walk in shower with rain shower head fixture. There is a remote control skylight over the shower and corridor that also allows light and air to flow in. All rooms have AC units which give some heat as well. We have radiator heat, an all new electric, heating and plumbing system. Beautiful lighting throughout. The kitchen: wood counter top, custom cabinets, a fireplace (wood can be purchased nearby), 5 burner gas cooktop, Miele frig with wine storage rack, a big stainless steel sink (note: no dishwasher). It is fully equipped with silverware, plates, glasses, spices and staples like sugar, flour and olive oil. Open shelving for easy access to plates, cups, glasses etc. From the kitchen you ascend to the upper floor by the original staircase. The upstair bedroom is a "divano letto"/ sofa bed there is double size or full size: High quality mattress and it's own ac unit. This room could be used for 2 people but it is a little snug. The large terrace is surrounded by wonderful old buildings, there is cushioned seating along the edge, chaise lounges, low tables, cactus, folding chairs, lanterns and battery operated candles. There is a sink and counter for outdoor eating and dining table. Modern hidden mood lighting enhance your evenings. There is an outdoor shower meant only for sunbathing cool down as it is open, not private but there is the fully private shower immediately inside the terrace room here. There is excellent wifi internet and TV. There is a security system (though it is very safe here) with a buzzer and video camera. The courtyard is totally private and can be accessed by 3 doors on the inside and the double door gate from the street. It is calm, quiet and cool. Off the courtyard you will find the independent guest suite, with double bed and bathroom. There is also a door entrance with shutters and screen and gate. Sleeping here in general is very quiet: my neighbors are calm and quiet but occasionally a car will pass. Table and chairs for evening eating and relaxing. There is limited traffic in Nardò center so things are quiet. Guest access My entire home is at your disposal. Bring beach towels, it is the only thing I don't provide. Enter my home by push button code which will be provided upon booking. Other things to note Is it essential that you recycling. All items must be cleaned and placed in the bins they city has provided and YOU must put out the properly recycled trash! there is nightly pick up except on Sunday.
