Description

Kumagawa-juku is a post town, a place for travelers to rest, north of Kyoto. Located about an hour away by car, it was a hub for business, being close to the sea. This town was designated a historical site by the Agency for Cultural Affairs. Yao-Kumagawa consists of four traditional Japanese homes, that were renovated from old and abanonded properties within Kumagawa-juku. The space Tsuguimi is one of four properties that guests can spend a night or two in. Originally part of a single, large residence, the home was split into two parts, forming Tsugumi and Hibari. Tsugumi is the smaller of the two, has a beautiful table inlaid with a tub of sorts to hold and keep your bottles nice and cool, and has a very cozy bedroom. You get all the amenities of the present day, with all the vibes of old Japan. Come stay with us at Yao-Kumagwa. Guest access Check-in is located at a building called "Hishiya", located right in the center of Kumagawa-juku. If you are coming by car, park at spot #1, directly across from Hishiya. Check the Yao-Kumagawa homepage's "News --> English" section for more information regarding check-in and guess access.
